Well, it usually take thee entire X-Men team (Storm included) to beat Magneto, I'm gonna have to say Storm loses on her own.

Methos, just for this, I'm going to stalk you for 3 days. Storm could win. While Magneto has defeated the X-Men before, he has said that Storm has never REALLY tried to defeat him. That, and she has expressed her fear of killing him.

Now now, before you start laughing at me, keep in mind that I said she "could". Considering he has beaten her before. Anyways, the first would be by using a powerful Hurricane against him. The second would be by attacking him with INTENSE hail, ice, and snow. Of course she has grown since then, but I think that he could win. But I'm still hoping that she does.

Having been through this discussion before, what it comes down to is that Storm has one single attack she can use that will not result in Magneto taking her out with him.

She has to get the drop on him and his superior reaction time and flash freeze him, killing him instantly.

That's the only shot she has. Storm manipulates "energy patterns", but Magneto manipulates the energy itself. Solar winds? They bend about earth's natural EM field. Magneto can deflect those with ease. Lightening? If it hadn't been for Colossus and Kurt in Uncanny #150, Magneto would have killed Storm with her own lightening. Drop the temperature? You just make him more conductive. Because of his shields, she can't get through to him physically. She's tried dropping the air pressure around him, but that doesn't work fast enough before he can counter attack. Any energy she can manipulate, he can (and with more experience). She has no shielding, so he can basically send an I-beam right through her if he chooses.

We're talking about a character who has direct control over one of the Four Foundation Forces of the Universe, who's started playing with space-time.

Storm has a shot, but it's very slim shot.

This is true, but I'm still holding on to her ability to use hurricanes. LOL

I don't see how she'd get through his force-field. And it'll be hard to get the drop on someone who can sense you through the Earth's magnetic field.

Yeah, but Magneto has held back too. He could have easily killed all the X-Men the same way he wiped out that entire city block when he daughter died: frying everyone's nervous system. Or draining the blood from their brains until they die, or ripping the iron content from their bodies.

I mean how many times did Logan eviscerate the Magneto before he really let Logan have it?

He holds back too.

Not to be mean, but to do what? (And she tried using a hurricane against him in Uncanny #150.)

She has a shot, but it's very slim at this point.

I like Storm, I do. I think she's one of the best character in the MU period and hella powerful.

It's just that she's outclassed here.

Now, if she goes Omega and gets another power boost, then Magneto will seriously have to worry.

Good point. We saw Polaris go all-out after her failed wedding with Havoc, and she stunned a large number of X-Men in seconds by manipulating the blood in their brains. She swatted Iceman aside because the trace-metals in ice gave her complete control over it as well. Magneto is even more powerful.

Yeah, he is much more powerful than Polaris is and has much more experience using his powers over a much wider range of applications than she does. And remember Illyana's funeral in Fatal Attractions when he froze not just the X-Men, but every single x-personel that came to the funeral (in costume for some mysterious reason of bad taste) in place and prevented them from accessing their powers (except Bishop who just sucked up the energy output)?

I agree with you. If Storm ever turned lightning haired, fire and ice breathing Goddess again, then I would say that she wins. Against Emma, yes. Against Cyclops, yes. Against Polaris, yes. But against Magneto? She's not even his age (if she evolves, then she never truly will be his age), and not as experienced as he is. Storm's uber powerful, but for now, she's limited. I'm a HUGE fanboy, but I know when my favs are outmatched. *to be continued*

Magneto is constantly protected by a powerful magnetic shield. So, a hurricane won't do much against him. Lightning will either be absorbed by the shield or deflected. I honestly don't see Storm winning.
