I don't know much about Nova, but from what I do know that would be one heck of a fight.

What is "nova energy"? Is it anything scientific at all?

Right now, given Nova's abilities to absorb energy, along with super speed...I think he takes this one. Magneto has shown himself able to control gravitons in the past, but it is not his primary ability. Nova absorbs whatever Magneto throws at him, and Magneto does not have full control over what Nova throws at him.

He did not know that he was there.

Magneto can do this:

Affecting objects thousands of miles away (Uncanny X-Men #150)

and this.

Sensing objects and attacks he cannot see. (X-Men Vol. 2 #2)

This is a good point. I don't think Magneto has to directly target Nova. I'm sure he can just affect an entire area around him. But Nova would still be too much for Magneto even if he somehow 'caught' Nova.

This would be a cool battle. Electromagnetism and gravity are both basic forces that make up the universe. If Magneto took away those mental blocks of his, this would be amazing to watch, but as it stands, Nova will just simply be too much for him.

Haven't read this one personally, but apparently he crossed a large magellanic cloud in 12 minutes, which is trillions of times the speed of light

Annihilus vs. Nova...lets hope Mags doesn't like long speeches or anything...

Which Nova? Nova Prime, or Regular Nova. Anyways Either version of Nova would win his feats are far much greater than that of Magneto;s.

The cloud itself is like 180k lightyears from Earth, and the Large Magellanic Cloud is... well large so when you take into account the speed he was going at you are already into huge numbers; and then Hala is supposed to lie the other side of said Cloud so it's pretty ridiculous when you think about the fact he did it in twelve minutes.

It's not entirely accurate based on no real accurate scale for the Cloud or where Hala is but we can only see 20k light years into the cloud itself so who knows just how big it is...
