Didn't Mace own his ass in the movie? in the books Palp was fighting Luke on a level beyond anything.

um, without Skywalkers help it would go down exactly as it did in the movie...

the two were fighting, Mace kicked the crap out of Palpatine and was about to kill him when Anakin interfered...

without Anakin's interferance Mace would have taken his head off and solved the entire problem...

why bother with a battle thread when the answer is stated quite clearly in the movie?
