Did the apprentice surpass the master?
Morals ON
Barriss at the end of Season 5; Luminara, same.
Depends on the morals. For one thing, Unduli will more than likely not kill her old apprentice, which right from the start would give Barriss some edge. Unduli is a superior telekinetic, and Barriss is likely a better duelist.
@dccomicsrule2011: Hah. I think their boringness makes them some of the best, non-emotional Jedi.
@silentbat: More experienced.
I'd think Luminara's mastery of Soresu would eclipse Barriss', because her decades of refinement with her technique, as well as her incredible physical abilities, (flexibility, dexterity, agility) all of which surpass Barriss'. Nothing her apprentice brings to the table is something she would be unprepared for, honestly. Where do you think Barriss learned Jar'Kai, and by extension Makashi? Barriss hasn't been on her own long enough to change her style so much, so it's logical to assume Unduli taught her.
Luminara has this, peeps. The only way I see Barriss winning is if Luminara is passing up lethal openings.
Luminara is just the better duelist and stronger in force, she has a great defense and is very wise and smart
Luminara. Morals aren't going to prevent her from incapacitating Barriss or disarming her, both of which she should have the capacity to do.
Barriss. Not just because she had better dueling feats, but I highly doubt Luminara would go all out against her apprentice.

luminara in tcw was just an a-hole
