This is Grandmaster Luke Skywalker vs New 52 Martian Manhunter. Both are in-character and have their standard gear. The fight is to the death or incapacitation and the fight takes place in an abandoned New York City. They start 20 yards apart and visible. Who wins and why?
Luke Skywalker vs Martian Manhunter
@pern: Basically solos the entire JLA by himself
As much as I love Star Wars and don't give a shit about Martian Manhunter, I see no way that Luke could win against Manhunter. Granted, Idk Manhunter's feats but I'm sure he's faster than Luke (although Grandmaster Luke can still move much faster than the human eye can see). Manhunter is definitely stronger. Luke may have the force and a lightsaber but manhunter can make himself intangible so Luke literally can't touch him unless he outsmarts him, which I don't see happening. Gotta give at least the slight edge to Manhunter (Sorry Luke)
Luke has like what Solar System level TP if I remember?
Yeah, his range is also transdimensional.
Oh the inconsistencies of star wars...
The best star wars debaters don't take those feats seriously, and seen as they're no longer part of the consistency neither should any of you.

So which fan-fiction was this in?
@redranger: OP listed Luke as Grandmaster, so his feats from Legends apply.
MM dominates, BUT...
@pern: Basically solos the entire JLA by himself
This is a fan theory based on one page in a Justice League comic. There is no evidence of what actually happened, or how he fared.
He did own Despero, which was impressive, but Superboy kicked his a**, and Aquaman went toe to toe with him. Right now, i'd put Supes and Shazam above him.

I'm universally seen (one of) the best Star Wars debater on this site, and yes, I do indeed take it seriously. So, your point?
..................
Also, how does MM actually win? Everyone is just saying he "dominates", or wins in a "blowout" but aren't exactly putting any cases forward.
Luke by feats is faster in terms of operating and reaction speed, he has means to take MM out (Lightsaber, Fold Space) he can become completely invisible and undetectable (Force Cloak), can create shields to protect against some of MM attacks (Force deflection/Barrier). MM telepathy ain't going to give him a win over someone who has...
- Telepathically scanned the minds of an entire Solar System of beings.
- Used TP to connect his mind to Black Hole, who was in another Dimension (Hyperspace).
- Caused Darth Caedus to flee, by implanting on his mind the illusion of an entire fleet of ships.
- Used telepathy to hypnotize being, put them to sleep, implant/take away memories, etc, etc.
- Created Illusion is thousands, upon thousands of people casually, etc, etc.
So, again, how does MM win?

Despero is a better telepath than Jonn and Jonn mindwiped the hell out of him. So Luke winning with telepathy is out of the question.
TP resistance feats for Luke? Because J'onn resisted Brainiac and his telepathy is universal so telepathy is pointless on J'onn
@reaverlation: He resisted Blackholes telepathy, who's TP is described as a giant blackhole that consumes everything around it.
Blackhole has other TP feats such as shutting down peoples brains, erasing all memories including memories of how to fight, how it feels to be alive, and how to be aware of your own body. He has also forcefully ripped knowledge from a Sith spirit
TP resistance feats for Luke? Because J'onn resisted Brainiac and his telepathy is universal so telepathy is pointless on J'onn
I think he resisted entire colonies of minds trying to take control of him.
The telepathy might be a wash. Regardless, GM Luke is way to versatile for MM. He's just got too many tools.
I'd like to see what these two have to say about the fight @jedixman @shootingnova
@chazz85: martian vision to the chest
...is that salt I smell? Knowing your rep, I'm not suprised. :D
You smelled lulz
@theredheadedyeti: he has the resistance the blow out over a million people trying to to him at the same time
Really? I'm not too up to date with SW info, but a million normal people seems feasible. What are his showings for much more power beings?
@leo-343: yes but J'onn has fought evenly against the whole JL which includes Flash and Superman (yes I'm referring to that one spread with no context behind it but iirc Barry is on the floor in that scan so safe to assume he was dropped by MMH).
Not to mention his shapeshifting and intangibility which could be major factors here.
Could go either way
J'onn if he using only TP, which isn't exactly in character, and Luke if they get into a physical fight.
@leo-343: well we can assume they were going at their usual combat speeds. I don't know just how fast that is but I'd wager it's pretty fast. Especially when we clearly see how much trouble J'onn gave the JL in that fight even though it's just 1 panel.
Intangibility doesn't have to come to offensive use here. It could just be used to counter anything physical Luke tries to do. Shapeshifting would come in handy to fool Luke. Being hit by a stretching arm from 10 meters away isn't something too predictable. I'm not sure to what extent MMH has used it in the N52 but I'm positive his shapeshifting would come in handy in some creative way.
