With all the neat DC-Star Wars teaser stuff going on right now with Episode VII and Batman V. Superman, I thought this could be a fun battle.

Luke Skywalker (RotJ) vs Batman (New 52)

Expanded Universe feats do not apply.

THE SETUP:

  • Random encounter
  • No prep
  • In character
  • Standard gear
  • Downtown city setting at night
  • Starting 20 feet apart and visible

"Duel of the Fates" theme plays in the background.

Movie feats only for Luke?

Otherwise he could just rag doll Bruce with telekinesis...

@boringperson: Not sure that would be an In character thing for Luke to do, even then Luke doesn't really need to use TK anyway.

Anything canon up to his RotJ incarnation is allowable.

Luke is superior in basically every respect. Batman can't hide, can't sneak attack and can't take him in a straight fight.

IIRC, the novel of the version are not apart of the EU, and is just as canon as the movies now....or so I've heard.

Luke has processed info in a microsecond in the movie novel, and thrown blows faster than the human eye can perceive; Bruce get's dropped like a bag of rocks.

Luke can neutralize everything Batman has and Bats can't stop a lightsaber or the Force. Batman's only option is gassing Luke unexpectedly, which won't happen.

Though if duel of the fates isn't playing, everything changes.

@dccomicsrule2011: I thought novels of any kind were considered EU, New Canon or not? But yeah, New Canon Luke destroys.

Which is why I said, I heard. If the novels are indeed canon, Bruce get's stomped. If not, Luke get's stomped. Simple as that really.

@dccomicsrule2011: Ah. The novels are Canon.

What I meant was, while they are Canon, I figure that they are still EU, since they're separate from the movies.

@manhunter_prime: How does he neutralize a sonic grenade, pray tell? Or Batman dropping the temperature 100 degrees?

If it's movie Luke with no EU feats, then Batman has a chance. But honestly, I don't see Batman handing out anything that Luke can't dodge easily. Bats will have to drop something pretty heavy to throw Luke off of his game, and outpace someone who's above peak-human with a lightsaber.

I'm trying to figure out if we all watched the same Star Wars movies. Movie Luke is incredibly unimpressive. In fact in most Star Wars battles on this forum, the only leg the fanboys have to stand on is the EU.

Batman has a big H2H disadvantage but I bet he could neutralize Luke easily using his gear alone.

Yea because if batman were frozen in an ice cave upside down he could use the force to grab a lightsaber 10 feet away and kill the beast and survive right? No, he would be lunch. Luke wins because of the force and swordsmanship. Luke 8/10.

all luke has to do is levitate bats in the air with the force. bats couldn't do anything but just hang in the air. he could force choke batman. luke is also faster than bats. he out classes bats by a lot.

What are luke's speed feats from the movies? The force gives him a clear advantage, and we've seen in the movies Luke has great sensing abilities which should eliminate stealth, but if the force were infallible there wouldn't be so many dead Jedi.

Yet no EU feats?....Or are you meaning anything movie wise? Can we throw in the movie novelizations since they are the same as the movies?

No EU feats, correct.

Yes, feats from the movie novelizations are fair game.
