I have decided that it is time for another tournament.
This will be for the lower high tier characters. The rules are simple: pick a technician, a brawler, and a wild card and duke it out with the other players.
No prep will be involved, and it's an all out fight.
The Technician
This character is the resident genius of your team. He will protect your team against foreign tech, while utilizing his own technology in an offensive manner.
Examples include Iron Man [Bleeding Edge], Blue Beetle III, and Mister Terrific.
Technician Rules
As the name suggests, your technician must be a tech-based character. That's really the only limit.
Technician Limits
- The Technician cannot be willing and able to take out an inhabited planet for the sole purpose of destroying an enemy.
- The Technician cannot have machinery above Brainiac or Ultron's tech.
- No Mirror Master, Pied Piper, Reed Richards, or Dr. Doom.
- The Technician cannot be able to survive one minute, not moving, with a blood-lusted, morals off Superman.
- The Technician may not have any of the following: soul attacks, telefrag, power mimicry or absorption, or duplication.
- The Technician may not be faster than Mach 100 in Combat Speed
- Nerfing will be considered. Ask me.
The Brawler
This is the physical character of your team. They enjoy hitting things, and will keep doing so until the opponent is down! In another words, a brick.
Examples include Superboy, Nova [Sam Alexander], Red Hulk, and Donna Troy.
Brawler Rules
The Brawler must be a physical character in that they generally use their fists and physical attacks. They are allowed to have ONE other power that does not involve physicals (for example, you could use Superboy and telekinesis).
Brawler Limits
- The Brawler may not be allowed to survive five minutes standing still with a bloodlusted, morals off Superman.
- No Flash or Reverse Flash.
- The character must be below Wonder Woman level overall.
- The Brawler may not be willing and able to bust an inhabited planet for the sole purpose of defeating an enemy.
- The Brawler may not possess any of the following abilities: intangibility, soul attacks, transmutation, power mimicry or absorption, duplication, or clayform.
- Nerfing will be considered. Ask me.
The Wild Card
This is the character who will bring the versatility to your team. He will protect your team from the more funky attacks like telepathy and magic.
Examples include Vision, Firestorm [no organic transmutation], Miss Martian, and God Cable.
Wild Card Rules
There are none! I would suggest that you choose a versatile character for this slot, but you can really choose anyone so as long as they're not a brawler.
Wild Card Limitations
- Same physical limitations as a brawler.
- The following powers are prohibited for Wild Cards: soul attacks, duplication, organic transmutation, and magic.
- The Wild Card cannot be able to solo Captain Atom without telepathy.
- Telepathy is limited to the level of the Martian Manhunter.
- The Wild Card's energy projection cannot level a continent.
Other Rules
- No Time Manipulation
- No Reality Warping
- No unavoidable attacks
- No instant-kill attacks
Perks
What would a tournament be without perks?!?! Not a good one, that's for sure.
Anyway, each perk will be very basic. You can only have one.
- I DC You: If your characters are all from DC, they will have perfect teamwork and basic knowledge on the enemy.
- Marvelous: If all of your characters are from Marvel, your will lose ALL their morals and self-restraint.
- No More Mainstream: If all of your characters are from comics that are not DC or Marvel [Wildstorm counts as DC], then they get five minutes of preparation time, blood-lust on (but still in character), and basic knowledge of the opponents' power sets.
- Do I Know You?: If none of your characters have ever heard of each other before, then they will get full knowledge of the enemy.
- Other: If all of your characters are from media sources outside of comics, then they will be immune to one specific type of power, of your choice (for example telepathy, telekinesis etc).
Miscellaneous
- Looking for sixteen people who will ACTUALLY POST. If you can't post within a week or so, DON'T SIGN UP.
- I will participate.
- I have the right to reject any character that I deem unqualified for the tourney.
- Maximum three posts (not including introductions, if you choose to make them).
- Be polite and respectful. Friendly banter is fine.
