Lane has the better training and skill, but MJ keeps a gun on her....

Lois has defended herself against thugs a fair bit. I don't know about MJ but I always see her running away/calling for Spidey.

Lois Lane is a Black Belt martial artist. I don't believe Mary Jane has ever had any substantive h2h combat training that I'm aware of. She gets beaten like a drum here (which is a shame 'cause she's so pretty)!

The gun is a serious force multiplier in this match-up. If she's at allproficient with it, then this could be a stomp in her favor. Unless you as the OP give Lois a firearm as well (and we know the daughter of a high ranking General has spent several years going to the range with a variety of different weapons) then Mary Jane could have an insurmountable advantage via two long range incap/fatal options in her handbag. H2H though, she gets her cute little butt whipped.

This. But if she has to duck/dodge gunfire before she can even through a single punch, this is an unnecessarily unfair battle. Lois needs a least a revolver here. Hell, if Mary Jane gets to pack some of her husband's weaponry, why shouldn't Lois get a weapon from the Fortress of Solitude?
