@thanofleeze: I think you're seriously underestimating Groot, especially in a forest, but if you insist, I'll add Rocket Racoon and prep to even the odds.
@venomoustaco: Well for one, Rocket is one of the top strategists in Marvel, planning a few times in saving the universe, among other things. Has greater tech than Tony and I could see him coming up with a plan and or building something to at the minimum to incapacitate Lobo, considering that he was about to do that to Thanos(and he didn't really have prep for that, he can think rather quickly).
With Groot helping out, I don't see why they can't take down Lobo at the least being able to KO him.
The 2nd round, I don't see how Lobo is gonna put down Groot considering the latter is in an environment which greatly benefits him.
Round 1: 24 hours of prep. Battle takes place on the Death Star in outer space. Win by death, KO, or incapacitation.
Round 2: Random Encounter, Standard Equipment (this includes Spazfrag 666). Battle takes place in a rainforest in South America. Win by death, KO, or incapacitation.
It's not all rainforest over here... so racist... lol =P

I was thinking the exact same thing. Groots consciousness can me moved into dupes ect that will just allow him to keep going. with all the trees ect he should be able to keep lobo busy until rocket can figure out a way to KO his for a bit.
You need to be clear about pre-52 Lobo. Is this the one who can make forms of himself with a single drop of blood? Then hell no, Groot and Raccoon get stomped with ease.
Even without that, this is an uphill struggle. Did Pre-52 Lobo have any true clear weakness? Because sitting here now, I can't think of any that would really benefit Raccoon.

Exactly what wolfrazer said. Rocket having 24 hours of prep, is at least 23 hours more then he usually gets. There's no reason he couldn't weaponize Knowhere and blow the Death Star out of the sky. That is something I could definitely see him doing in character.
Round 2 is Groot's for an easy win. He has an entire forest that can be his army or make him more powerful, although he doesn't even need to absorb wood to become powerful anymore, so that is just icing on the cake.
He is powerful enough to summon trees to make a webbing an transport an entire village across the galaxy to his home planet. This is the youngest and therefore weakest Groot has ever been seen in comics too (besides the latest short that was in the double sized issue that recently came out).
And I'm not sure if Lobo is going to be able to hurt him enough to do anything. Groot has tanked blows from Thanos on two separate occasions and comes out with no damage. He's a little rattled in the scan below, but other then that, he's fine. Lobo doesn't pack near as much of a punch as Thanos either. Current Groot is even more powerful then this as well.
@tparks: @ancient_0f_days: Nice scans, both of you... But y'all seem to have different opinions. Who wins?
At best, this is a stalemate for Lobo, because I don't know how he can put Groot down. Thanos is unable to put Groot down. There has yet to be anything to do any serious damage to Groot, because he can instantly regrow from it. He used to have to take root and soak water or wood to regrow, but he no longer requires that like here:
Also, Rocket is very durable. He's tanked shots from Gladiator and Starhawk. His suit gives him a pretty high level superhuman durability. The scan below, him and Groot are speed blitzed by Gladiator, but take no significant damage.
