Edit: Each character is a composite version of themselves - meaning all the various versions of the characters are essentially boiled down into one character.)

Setting: Hyrule Field

Link vs The Prince of Persia

Round 1: "Friendly" bout that end in KO

  • Link only has the Master Sword and Hylian Shield
  • The Prince only has the Sword of the Djinn and the Dagger of Time (he can not control time in this round )

Round 2: All out Death Battle

  • Link can use whatever weapons/powers he wants, but CANNOT use the Triforce
  • The Prince can use whatever weapons/powers he wants but CANNOT reverse time; he can slow it though

Round 1: Depends on the Link, for the most part the Prince is the more skilled out of the two.

Round 2: Link should win.

Link smashes the Prince.

Ice/Fire/Light arrows, bombs, bombchu's, megaton hammer, clawshot, MASTER SWORD, etc. Not to mention Link ain't scared o' nothin!

Won't be a complete stomp, but the Prince eventually gets overwhelmed.

@odinsonnn: @mikesterman: I think some more education in the Prince of Persia games is needed.

FYI, the Prince has the powers of a Djinn (control over the elements), the soul of a Djinn in his sword, as well as extreme agility and fighting abilities that are augmented by those magics. On top of that he also has the power of time (haste, slow, freeze), and the ability to turn into a stronger, faster, and more versatile version of himself, the Dark Prince.

The Prince is nothing to be trifuled with.

@onilordasmodeus: I don't mean to undermine him. But the hero of time is no joke either. Magic is by no means out of his realm. He has abilities of the three goddesses: Din, Farore and Nayru. Not to mention he battles/defeated a master warlock, Ganondorf, on several occasions.

Plus he said the Prince may only slow time here.

Good fight. Link comes out on top.

Overall the Prince is a better fighter and Link is not physically superior in strength. The Prince has numerous tools at his disposal and his ability to slow time will enable him to take out Link since the only thing Link has that can manipulate time to some degree is the Ocarina of Time and he has to actually play it while the Prince can activate his power at any time of his choosing.

The only thing that Link really has over the Prince is an indestructible shield, and the Prince has shown he has the skill and agility to get around that (like grabbing the shield, flipping over the top and kicking Link in the face is a viable option or pushing up the bottom of it and sweeping Link's legs out from under him. Really it's just a matter of putting thought into action).

As for the FDM, all it really did was power up Link and give him a bigger sword. It should have had other powers, but never showed anything. So it's not much different from the Prince using his Dark power.

@onilordasmodeus:

Round 1: Link as a total character has skill ranging across multiple times and realities, as well as the more impressive parrying skills. At this point, he wins, but only by so much as the Prince is extremely skilled as well.

Round 2: Link still has way too many abilities man. Invincibility(via multiple ways), weather manipulation, magic, time manipulation(not on par with the Prince's though), super strength, super speed, decent agility, teleportation, and so many more. He wins.

@soothing_sounds: Link has the collective skill of his counterparts, but all generally have the same level of Skill in every version, and the Tri-Force of Courage really just enabled his multiple selves to learn these skills faster. In most instances Link has almost always had a partner to help him find weaknesses or get around things.

The Prince, on the other hand, mostly goes at it alone, and has not just sharpened his skills through training and fighting multiple enemies, but has actually traveled through time on multiple points while being chased by dark entities seeking to remove him from existence because he'd used the Dagger to alter events.

As for 'invincibility', in all honesty Link never really attains that, and when he appears to it's limited by how many gems he has. Once those run out his armor becomes as useful as wearing a sheet of paper on your chest. All of Link's best tools had an in-built limit. Not unlike how many times the Dagger of Time can be used before the sands run out.

Though a technicality, the Op says weapons/powers, and the Invulnerability was never a 'Power', but a magical effect on the armor he was wearing or a combination of several different items that also had a time limit and required various materials.

If you looked at them without special items, the Prince is actually far more skilled and faster with much greater agility and cunning in a fight over Link. Round 1 goes to the Prince for these reasons. Round 2 is just a cluster of "Who is more powerful than who"

@reikai: Woah dog, you're so off. Link from Zelda & Lttp were basic, but had sword beams. Link from OoT was so basic, and his only special attack was an overhead jump and a spin move. He had other things like side steps and backflips, that's about it. WW Link had multiple skills, and a great parry ability. TP Link had a large array of skills that were taught to him by the warrior's he encountered. And Skyward sword has extreme precision and motion, and adds skyward strikes. Add to the fact that Link is used to fighting giant bladesmen and demon versions of swordsmen, where as grunts of swordsman are a daily thing, kind of implies Link is skilled when put all together.

So? Link goes it alone. A demon who threatened a goddess was challenged by Link who merced him. His hate was then reincarnarted into one of the most powerful and dark magicians who can't even be killed by the master blade, then multiple Links continue to challenge him over and over again. But so what, nothing to do with skill

It's not always about gems. He could also just use Nayru's love which relies on magic, and with a potion he could make himself incincible for 3 minutes(though that's technically not a power or weapon, so i won't include it). And round 2 is a cluster, i agree, but it's one in which Link ends up on top of.

round 1: link is probably stronger and has a better defense because of the shield but thats about it. the prince has much better swordplay and has better agility. eventually prince might hit him.

round 2: im leaning towards the prince since link doesnt have much of a defense towards princes temporal or elemental abilities

@Hyperlight Don't underestimate Links swordsmanship. In the game, it tells us that Link has the combined swordsmanship and experience of all his generation. Plus his triforce of courage gives him complete control of any weapon.

For round 2, link has a large variety of weapons/powers, diety mask having the power of a diety( as name implies), dins flames field of flames, nayru love invincibility, bunny ears boost of agility, four swords make 4 copy of oneself with 4 copy of any used item, etc...

Link wins

The Pegasus Boots with an attached Roc's Feature can grant Link great speed and great jumping ability

The Golden Gautlets give link a MASSIVE strength boost, he was able to lift up an enormous column of granite and throw it quite a distance in Ocarina of Time

Link has Magic Spells like Nayru's Love, this thing is Haxed! It couldnt be Broken in Ocarina of Time and it lasts for a very long time.

The Master Sword and The Hylian Shield are both indestructible

Link can shoot Sword Beams when hes at peak condition and can shoot the Skyward Strike

@soothing_sounds: Going on about how the mechanics function for his "parry" is rather meaningless. We don't judge by that. We go by cut-scenes, story and lore. And in these scenes the Prince has shown exceptional speed, agility, and swordmastery. Above and beyond anything Link has shown in scene or even in his Manga adaptations.

So he fights big monster swordsman? Yeah, so has the Prince. In fact, more than half the things he has to fight and kill aren't human. But anyway, if we kept going on powers, he actually gains Immortality, given to him by the Genie Zahara in "The Forgotten Sands". He gives this up to try and save Princess Nasreen. But if he's being given whatever powers he wants from those he possessed, then he can literally be immortal as a Power and not an Item or Armor. Which would mean Link has no way of actually killing him in Round 2.

If Link were allowed his items then the Prince would have his as well, which includes the Mask of the Wraith. When he is as the Sand Wraith, he has limitless access to his Time based powers in exchange for stamina. Combined with his Immortality however, it would effectively make him practically a God of Time. The only issue is that he's only allowed to Slow time in Round 2. Given the setup like this, he could slow time to a crawl indefinitely.

It wouldn't matter how many different abilities Link has access to if none of them will ever hit the target. And if Link's invulnerability is dependent on a fuel source or a time limit, then the Prince can keep picking away at him until Link falls to pieces.

@reikai: Fierce Deity Link is stronger than Majora who is strong enough to pull the moon from orbit and wipe out the entire country of Termina.

@reikai: Fierce Deity Link is stronger than Majora who is strong enough to pull the moon from orbit and wipe out the entire country of Termina.

That's incorrect. Majora created and gave Link the FDM and Majora was Playing Around the entire time. Majora could bend reality. The FDM could not and never showed such. Link defeated Majora by splitting the mask in half. That's all. All it really did was give Link a power boost and a new sword.

@reikai: Im of the personal belieef that if a games main focus is gameplay instead of cutscenes, then we should use gameplay for feats as well as cutscenes. If we didnt, then link could barely use any of his weapons.

Any solid feats for this assumed immortality. Any limitations set? Bbb ill get back to you
