I say that because he cant easily find out where light lives and kill him.

Light would end up losing in the long run anyway because he needs to see the persons face to kill him.

Light. He proved time and time again he could do things with things that are amazing. Besides, once he figured out that it's Doom, then it's only a couple of minutes before he figures out who is behind the metal mask. The only way Doom could win is by not showing light that it is Doom, however if Doom uses his usual tactics such as Doom bots and other such usual methods then L again could figure out it is Doom and then find out who the true identity behind it is.

but light has Misa and its not like his name is a complete secret to everyone

without Misa he loses he would still need a face.

unless he got really desperate and didnt care about hurting an innocent person with that name.

Because Light doesn't even have to be in the same room as Dr. Doom in order to kill him.
He just needs to have the image of Dr. Doom's face in his head, and just spell  his name correctly in the Death Note.
This wouldn't be a difficult situation for Light at all.
