Leonidas has 10000 of his best hopelites, the two roman emperors and julius have their best men in a legion of 10000 each.

Ares has his power (strength, magic) but he is actually killable.

Ares stomps. There's no question. You're sending warriors against the god of war? Really?

@mrbr: If you mean vulnerable to mortal weaponry, then Ares makes it through about 75% of the way, then dies. You can't dodge every arrow, and these rulers are smart when it comes to war.

Yes, the swords/arrows/ballistas/scorpions/spears can hurt and eventually kill him in this situation but he can take a whole lot more than just an average person.

If memory serves, Ares has outright control over moral weapons. So he doesn't need to dodge them; he can stop them from attacking him in the first place.

Let's pretend that ones of his powers he can't use because that kinda would destroy the purpose
