At least once when he fought against MechaG, there was a secret nuclear plant if I remember (or was it in movie against Megaguirus?) right and G wanted to crush it.
In Godzilla vs Biollante he was also after some nasty stuff.
Godzilla vs Biollante was one of my favorite movies. Mostly because other monster was so damn powerfull (and cool looking) that he forced Godzilla to retreat. It's rare to see "good guys" in Godzilla movies to be so powerful against Godzilla.

He is often trying to destroy nuclear plants. You know what happens to nature if he ever managed to do it?
Perhaps out of necessity, it is his food. He absorbs the nuclear material for his own nuclear reactor heart, or at least that was what was established in the Heisei continuity.
