Kratos wins. He has the greater strength and durability, while Scorpion has the greater speed but Kratos can win with the Claws of Hades alone.

Kratos. He's better equipped, especially if "Kratos has weapons from GOW III" includes the Blade of Olympus, and knows the area while Scorpion does not.

Kratos has those boots from Hermes so I wouldn't give the speed edge to Scorpion.

Which Scorpion? Composite or MK9? And does Kratos have the "the hope of the world" in side of him?

Depending on the Scoripion, and if Kratos has hope, it could go either way.

Kratos would win if this was just MK9 Scorp, and he'd also probably win against any version of Scorpion if he had the hope of the world at his disposal. But I'd say composite Scorpion would win against non-hope Kratos in a straight up fight.

H2H, Scorpion can probably make him angry by just repeatedly hitting him and dodging. If he does some nerve touch, he'd win.

@onilordasmodeus: Well I would say that Kratos and Scorpion are evenly matched and also very much alike. Both had their families murdered, both are angry 24/7, both want vengeance, both were betrayed by their masters, and both literally crawled their way out of hell when they died since they are fueled by rage and vengeance.

Kratos can only win if he unlocks Hope, but he can only do that if he forgives himself for his sins. If not then they'll fight forever.

They both are transported to the netherrealm. Kratos after a long fight picks up Scorpion cuts his head off and kicks his body into the lava. Then Kratos keeps the head as a weapon and proceeds to go find Quan Chi so he can get his families souls back

Kratos should win his gear. And the boots do not make Kratos that fast at all, Hermes himself was pretty slow...
