When Kratos is accidentally displaces himself in the process of time-travel, he finds himself in modern day, at the center of NYC,without his magic powers and equipments .The Police are powerless as they cannot do anything to stop him. The Avengers, somewhere else hear this, and quickly decide to take action. Rampaging the streets into an empty space, Kratos is approached by current Avenger, Luke Cage and they swiftly begin to battle. Who will out-match the other?

How? Only way he wins is if no magic means that Kratos loses his insane physical stats.

The OP stipulated that "Magic is forbidden."

Kratos is worthless without any magic.

So you think "no magic" means that Kratos loses his demigod physical stats?

Kratos still has Superhuman physical stats due to being a demigod. He wins.

The demigod stats are inherently magic. Perhaps the OP should specify which aspects of Kratos's magic is "forbidden".

@Illuminatus: Okay, I was just checking if that's why you thought Cage wins.

I agree, it would be helpful as Kratos without his stats and no weapons is just some dude who's good at fighting.

Precisley. He would just be some half naked moron, trying to take on a 25 tonner with an attitude problem.

Kratos dominates Luke Cage in a physical body, Kratos is more on Things or She-Hulks league.

@classicknight: Kratos is still superhuman even without his magic.

Obviously I knew that before I posted my comment. A standard superhuman (enhanced strength, agility and stuff) can't get past Luke Cage IMO. Kratos's weapons won't tickle Cage.

I wonder when Kratos will get his due respect on the Vine. Ok, I get it, while GoW was still in its early days, Kratos used to be pitted against Galactus and Odin, which gave the fandom a bad name.

Which doesn't mean however, that suddenly street levellers will be able to beat him.

Kratos is a Demigod so even without magic he can defeat Luke , his physical strength is as good as Luke or might be better.

That's what the rest of the people are saying. I don't EXACTLY remember the issue number, but Tony (Ironman) mentioned somewhere that only Adamantium could cut through Luke's skin. That's where I was getting the Power Man win from. Since Death is the only method for elimination, Kratos knocking Cage out won't help, let alone incapitation. Kratos's Magic would devastate Cage without a doubt but weapons? Not so sure...

Yes he was and that still wouldn't change that restraining it was clearly a feat for him.

YEP!! Hopefully there's a Norse trilogy, and he continues along the mythical pantheons. I'd love to see him in Egypt eventually.

@highaccuser: More like how was he? Also ummm you clearly missed the part where Kratos told his son to shoot the giant. Which he fails of course, and then we see Kratos quickly dispatching it, so no, he wasn't trying to kill it. That scene tells us directly that he could have killed the giant anytime but chose to let his son kill it.

Kratos told his son to shoot because he needed help...his son was there to kill the deer not the giant.

He didn't need help. He even insisted on the son doing it to prove himself to him in combat. As of earlier the son asked him to give him the bow to help in a fight. But of course Kratos said no.

And even after the son failed to kill it and ended up shooting at Kratos instead Kratos killed it himself.

Why are you even debating this? Kratos beat the giant to the floor and was clearly capable of snapping it's neck and various other fatal blows.

Kratos, without his Godly powers is still a demigod and has some good stats. Basically, feats of strength and striking power are of his own rather than the powers imbued by the gods.

This the same as the Thanatos fight. Yeah, you have Deimos helping you, but once he was gone it ends being even easier beating Thanatos than with his help.

Well the trailer for the next God of War shows Kratos struggling with a moderately sized giant, so there's that.

That was just game mechanics, the same as when he 'struggled' with one viking earlier on in the same trailer. And when he entered Berzerker Ra-- I mean Spartan Rage, he completely wrecked the troll.

Now that you said it, the moment Kratos did take the fight seriously he wrecked the monster in under 5 seconds. Before he was just using it as a training dummy for his son.

Wait, people are saying Kratos struggled with that Troll? Kratos flat out stomped it, he didn't kill it because he wanted his "son" too.

This isn't a fight, this is a slaughter. Kratos is light years stronger and more durable. Luke gets his insides turned to mush with one effortless punch from Kratos.
