Hmm, I'd give Korra an win round 1, round 2 I'm not sure, might need to review some of Korra's firebending

book 3 korra wins round 1 due to avatar state

zoku winds round 2 becaues he was a much more skilled firebender after seeing the dragons, so i think his firebending would be superior than korra, who never really demonstrated anything special with fire bending outside of the avatar state.

I'd give it to Zuko in round 2.

R1 Korra. Just better trained craftier and (for once) the smarter fighter.

R2 Zuko barely. He's a better bender and more focused but Korra seems to have better physicals generally so she could take it.

Korra never impressed me as an entirely impressive firebender.

Zuko, likewise, wasn't all that impressive before the dragons thing, but I feel like he was still more impressive than Korra. He managed to beat Admiral Zhao in an agni-kai all the way back in book 1, and he managed to either stalemate or very nearly beat Aang on multiple occasions. Honestly, I think his firebending during the fight in the cavern under Ba Sing Se was more impressive than any firebending I've seen from Korra.

In addition, he has the advantage of other fighting skills in addition to his firebending. He managed to put up a good fight against an earthbender that one time without using fire at all, and he took on dozens of enemy soldiers singlehandedly as the Blue Spirit. Korra, on the other hand, really has no fighting skills that don't involve bending.

Round 2: As everyone has said, a toss up match. Zuko should edge out a victory thought.

Well yeah, pretty much everybody in the Avatar universe does on some level or another. However, I don't recall any non-bending combat fears from Korra that struck me as impressive at all.

@kaang_the_watcher: there's a few fights where she goes hand to hand with people, but yeah not like Blue Spirit

Round 1: I think Korra takes it. Even though she's from the water nation, it looked like she used fire bending as her go-to element.

Round 2: I'm going to go with the consensus and say either one could win. I'd say Zuko though because he had better control of his bending and he wasn't as confused about himself after it.

Round 1: Korra since Zuko sorta jobbed whenever he fought Aang or someone else in Book 2. (How is it, that as the Blue Spirit he's a waaayyyy better fighter but sucks anytime he's plain old Zuko?)

Round 2: Zuko.

@z___: yeah, that's just redirection, he can't actually make lightning. Iroh tried teaching him but he couldn't do it

i give it to zuko. he becomes the firelord and has extensive training in firebending being able to beat opponents that have more experience. korra is an asskicker but restricted to just fire zuko has a big advantage of knowing the bending far more intimately.

@arcus: So that means he can't project it..~ I thought he was successful with Uncle but I guess not. Hm. Didn't know that.

Korra both rounds. Zuko, even after the dragons never impressed me when compared to other firebender masters.

Zuko both rounds, I never felt like dragon training was a massive amp, especially after rewatching the crystal cave fight.

Post-Dragons Zuko never really impressed me; in fact he didn't even really get stronger, he just got a much higher level of control and drew power from elsewhere then his desire to capture Aang. His most impressive feat was stalemating a mentally insane Azula, who stationary for a solid 70% of the battle.

That being said, Korra is a bending prodigy, and showed quite a bit of skill in fire bending, and is pretty strong physically as well as being able to quickly adapt and fight using her surroundings to her advantage. Avatar State is also unrestricted, so she takes both rounds.

@etheral_dreams: he also stalemated or at least fought evenly with a sane Azula, which is an improvement considering he got wrecked in their fights pre-dragons

I still hold the belief that Zuko is more skilled in firebending than Korra. We haven't seen much in the way of versatile firebending from Korra, she mostly uses fire blasts and dismissal. Zuko has created fire whips, daggers, and has shown enough control to send a wave of fire throughout a hallway without burning the wood.

@arcus Almost forgot about that..still I'd say Zuko has displayed a higher level of firebending skill throughout the books.
