A puma would get wrecked. One bit and it's all over.

Pussy, it just has to get to the Komodo's neck whereas Komodo's use poison to where down their prey. Puma is too quick and agile.

Spite, even tho most of the big cats are tremendously strong I doubt its fangs and claws will be enough to pierce the Dragon's hide. Besides as stated above one bite and it is over, the infection and corrosion from the Komodo Dragon's bite starts taking its toll on the victim almost instantly.

@lucano: no it takes a little while for the animal to feel it unless it gets bit a lot. And Komodo's throat isn't thick like the rest of the body so it's vunerable.

@danikerhino: The Komodo Dragon has a lower gravity center and is not that behind in speed. The Komodo Dragon does not use poison, their saliva is extremely toxic due to the bacteria in it, bacteria that corrodes the flesh from the wound and infects the blood and blood vessels as it travels the circulatory system of the victim. I love big cats, they are among my favorite animals, but the Puma gets wrecked.

It depends on the Puma's size tbh. They can range from 140 lbs, which my dog could very likely take down, to 230 lbs which would own my dog 12 ways to Sunday. The poison is the thing. I don't think a puma can take the dragon down quickly enough. You have to factor in the one bite or multiple bites the puma would sustain, not to mention the saliva that is always dripping from the komodo's mouth that could get into any open wound.

Quite an interesting battle to distract me while my Witcher 3 installs though.

@lucano: it takes time for the bacteria to get from the skin to the bloodstream, it doesn't work like a snake bite where it goes straight to the bloodstream to circulate instantly. Come on man, it says that in every show that's ever had Komodo dragons in it, along with them being cannibals.

Sadly the komodo dragon wins, one bite and its over but if the Puma would bite the lizard it would take it thanks to its thick hide and reptiles tend to heal wounds faster than we do.
