King Leonidas [300] vs. Crixus [Spartacus]
Crixus. While he was at the bottom of the high-tier gladiators, he was still a high-tier gladiator. Leonidas was tough but his strength lay in mass combat where he had a team (even if the movie didn't express that very well by having him wantonly run into combat). Even still, despite his training, Leonidas's best one-on-one feat was killing the wolf when he was a teenager. Crixus has slaughters dozens of highly-skilled opponents in single combat, he's better geared towards this type of encounter.
I'd go with Crixus.
Care to explain why?

... No. He one-shotted countless Persians.
the problem i see people forgetting is Leonidas's mind was as much of his weapon and he could think on the fly shown in the movie when he insults the god king. he was trying to get the god king to kill him so sparta would go to war. the scene before that when he is told the god king wants to meet with him he said lets hope they are stupid enough to kill me basicly

You said his best feat was one-shotting a wolf which was stuck in a crevice...

It didn't get in that crevice by itself. He used his spear to guide it and get it where he wanted it, that requires thought and precision.
@joygirl: That just proves he was smarter than the wolf. It was barely a fight. Therefore it isn't as impressive as one-shotting a few of Asia's finest.
@monsterstomp: It's irrelevant anyway. How does killing some (literally) faceless mooks stack up against Crixus's standing up to people like Spartacus and Aggron? Being the champion of Capua, having fought dozens and dozens of hardened warriors in one-on-one combat and bested them all, even holding his own against the Shadow of Death?
And considering that Crixus was only slightly lesser than Spartacus in skill, who stalemated Gannicus (who himself stalemated Oenimaeus) and was a champion in his own right... Crixus has too broad a list of characters and feats to draw from. Leonidas didn't fight a single named character. Not one.
@joygirl: I was just sayin...
I haven't seen Spartacus. I just wanted to respond to the comment you made and get out of here.
Very well. Your life shall be spared.
For now.
Crixus.
It's a 1-on-1 match, and this gladiator is a champion. Leonidas isn't fighting some Persian, skill-less cannon fodder here. The hoplon will be a challenge for Crixus, but Leo has absolute no chest armor, which brings him down to the gladiator's armor level.
Crixus, even when Spartacus was a well trained soldier/ leader before he was enslaved and barely won against some gladiators. Crixus has proven that even outmatched, his fighting is impressive. Leonidas used the environment to funnel fodder into his spear. In a one on one fight, Crixus anyday. In a war, Leonidas.
@Mr_Clockwork91: Crixus was actually a pretty solid contender in the war of the damned, too.
@joygirl: I bet now that he has worth fighting for, I'm finishing the show as we speak. He is my favorite character, even more than Spartacus himself.
@Mr_Clockwork91: Gannicus 4 lyfe
@Joygirl: First off Leonidas wouldn't of lost at all if it wasn't for that Elphialtes. Also he killed many "Immortals". He fought that big ugly troll dude who was monstrous. He made a god king bleed. And his banging hot wife gets revenge.
Crixus is a good fighter, but lost his love and went battle crazy. He did fight that beast guy as well, but with the help of Spartacus.
It would be a close fight, but Leonidas takes this one.
@mlunny1121: Your bias is palpable.
@Joyride: Agree to disagree
@mlunny1121: Kind of hilarious -- when I was originally making the Joygirl character, the concept was named Joyride. I changed the name because another writer on the same site had a webcomic with a character named Joyride, so I changed it. Serendiptiously amusing that you'd address me as The Name That Got Away.
@Joygirl: haha my phone auto corrected. I'm glad you acknowledged my argument is palpable
@Mr_Clockwork91: Gannicus 4 lyfe
He is tight, but imma have to go with Crixus, he is my homie.
@wolfrazer: The Repeatedly Defeated Gaul loses... slightly.
Leonidas beat the giant immortal, which is comparable or better than Theocoles, but I don't think that translates particularly well to 1 vs 1 dueling.
Spartan Aspis is better than the Roman Scutum (for single combat)
The scutum forces you to focus on your sword as the main offensive weapon. The Aspis is a Spartan's main offensive weapon.
@mrtummytumms: Lol visual effects smh.
Crixus can do that too btw
@huey_freeman34: Lol we don't know that. They never said it was visual effects during the movie so for all we know he really could slow down time.
Leonidas, he dealt with that 7ft Immortal personally and fast. Crixus got seriously f@cked by Theocles. Plus spartan shield gives him better defense.
