The King of Omashu vs The Son of Avatar Aang
All characters are bloodlusted
First round: Fight takes place at Laghima's peak
Second round: Fight takes place in Republic City (buildings are made of earth)
Victory by K.O or Death!
Who wins?
@sean12345: I don't know if I agree with that. Also Bumi was testing Aang, not going all out. Aang was much more agile than Tenzin and Bumi was able to tag him.
Bumi has more experience, keener mind, much more raw power.
So, Crazy Genius King for the win.
Bumi. I honestly think his raw power and skill is a lot more impressive than Tenzin ever did in the show and yes, I'm well aware of his fight against the Red Lotus.
Also, we've never really seen Bumi fight seriously in the show so I can't even begin to imagine what he'd do if he was bloodlusted.
@wbr17: Where's your proof that Bumi wasn't going all out? He was clearly doing moves that I'd hardly call not going all out. Tenzin is roughly on equal footing with Aang in terms of agility I'd say and even then he's demonstrated superior feats then Aang has in book 1.
Sure he has raw power and experience but Tenzin is extremely agile and durable. Also let's not forget that Tenzin was tutored by Aang.
Tenzin might be a better combatant than the Aang that fought Bumi, but he's not better in all aspects-namely agility and possibly raw power. Bumi's a city-level bender, and fast and skilled enough to casually tag an evading Aang. He knows exactly how to fight airbenders, and he's got all the tools to do it
@arcus: You'd say this goes for both rounds?
Yeah. 1st round's closer, but Bumi still takes a good majority
@impervious: Because Bumi was testing his friend, trying to teach him something? I don't think he was trying to kill Aang. I also disagree with the idea of Tenzin having better feats than book 1 Aang, that he demonstrated agility near Aang's.
But ok, I was just sharing my thoughts
@wbr17: was that reply meant for me or the thread maker?
@impervious: Sorry! To the thread maker. My mistake. @sean12345

@arcus: @wbr17: @llehdevil: So kinda random but I got a nice off-topic thread here if you guys are interested. Non-battle or animated related.
Bumi throws some city blocks on Tenzin.
This. Tenzin's good, but King Bumi is just on another level.
Tenzin wins, because a 52-year-old's body is still much stronger and more durable than a 112-year-old man's.
Also, while Bumi could beat two Red Lotus members, I don't think that he could beat 3.
But age is the main factor here: Tenzin is pretty middle-aged, but Bumi is way too old.

Bumi throws a few buildings and calls it a day. In all seriousness though, Tenzin could actually stand up and hold his own against the mad genius, but I don't see him actually winning this.
Bumi has raw power as well as unconventional advantages, like bending with just his chin, burrowing and quick sand. He is also pretty quick for an earthbender. During Aang's final challenge in The King of Omashu, Aang was struggling to evade him, and got hit several times. This was with Bumi just playing around, even cracking jokes. While Tenzin is one of the few benders who would do better against him than most would (he's got great durability and defenses but he is not as agile as Aang), I don't see him bringing enough to the fight to defeat King Bumi.

Do you see what Bumi is doing with that crystal? That same happens to Tenzin in both rounds.
Bumi is a freak of nature, only non Avatar bender imo that compares are prime Toph, Noatak (Amon), and Azula had she ever reached her full biological potential.
the air bending community is still too small to provide the competition and ideas required to churn out such powerful benders, and Tenzin was the only one for decades.
@anderioan: I can name like 3 more, he is good but he's not untouchable, he is just top tier like some other characters.

Well, I named Bumi in my initial list because, like the others, he has aspects to his character that we haven't seen anyone approach. Katara is still limited in her abilities as far as bloodbending is concerned, but Noatak is simply broken with what he's able to do. (any day of the month, without lifting a finger?). Toph revolutionized earth bending when she was a teenager, and Azula is the pureblood daughter of firebending royalty and a direct descendant of Roku, boasting an intensity to her abilities I don't think we've seen since. And like these three, Bumi is alone in the avatar-verse in that he is a spry and healthy centenarian who is still worth an entire army by himself. Toph has the surgical skill, but in sheer amount of substance bent, I don't think anyone takes it over Bumi, save for a comet amped firebender or a moon amped katara.
