Who wins and why?

So the Third can't use his Edo tensei feats or is he allowed to use those feats? Such as when he matched the 5 elements with his clones,

You can use those feats there just not edo's.

Could go either way, it's why I love Naruto battles, so many characters are almost even skill wise, but with different techniques.

I don't think the Third has much chakra if he is in base form, non edo. With that said, I believe it will be a great fight, but Kakazu has got this. Not only does the Third have to kill him 5 times, which he won't be capable of and arguably wouldn't even know Kakazu has that many hearts that he has to destroy, but he has a very limited chakra supply from what we saw in his fight with Orochimaru.

If they stay at a range and blast justu at one and other, it will likely be pretty even in terms of power and the Third will be only draining his own chakra. With the doton skin that surrounds Kakazu most of the time, I don't think anything the Third does up close, asde from using the Death god to suck out his soul, would work on Kakazu. If he engages close, he gets tangled up in a mess of webs while Enma is busy dealing with a couple of Kakazu's hearts.

Third should take this. He's a freaking beast and took on Orochimaru with two depowered Kages. He gets underrated a lot but the third still beat Oro who was akatski himself and in my opinion is stronger than Kakuzu.

I wish the Third had more showings, i think he gets underrated a lot. The outcome of this fight is like flipping a coin

Gonna say Sarutobi. It all comes down to this :

Both can use all 5 elements but the difference is that Kakuzu will lose an element each time a heart gets destroyed. Meaning that Saru only needs to destroy a single heart to ensure his elemental advantage and thus victory.

Saru has never used lightning and thats the only element that can harm kakuzu when he uses kanagokaseru no jutsu.

They are the same basically except part one had limited chakra and was killable.

I see the Third summoning that monkey. Kakuzu's masks will pose a problem to him. I think Kakuzu will win due to those masks.

The third wins as soon as he takes out a heart which he certainly will. Once he has the advantage of elemental releases it's over. I know it'll be a tough fight but I'm always gonna pick the 3rd between these two.

kakuzu probably, while sarutobi has access to all the elements, with his limited chakra in part 1 i doubt he could use all 5 elements in unison and constantly while on the other hand kakuzu can. sarutobi will get overwhelmed eventually

He can with clones. All though not sure how long he can keep that up with his chakra supplies.

true he can produce clones to do that, but remember that kagebunshin splits the user's chakra up, so again, his limited chakra will really hinder him and thus the attacks of his clones will likely be weaker and thus overpowered by kakuzu's masks. If this were prime sarutobi ofcouse thats a different story, but as it is I think he would not be able to take the victory

His attacks seemed pretty powerful in the scan above despite using clones.

Third Hokage because mind you Kakashi was able to hold his own against both Kakuzu and Hidan without Kamui, and without that ability I don't see Kakashi being on par with the Third Hokage in Ninjutsu and Taijutsu which is basically all that Kakashi used in that fight.

thats coz he is an edo tensei with unlimited chakra in that scan. For this fight he isn't an edo tensei

Hiruzen Sarutobi ftw! He was the strongest Shinobi in his era and was called The Professor or The God of Shinobi. He knew all the Jutsu known in the Hidden Leaf.

Kakuzu was seconds away from killing kakashi, ino and chouji. I don't see hiruzen matching that. While he did fight hashirama and tobirama, I would hardly take that seriously considering they weren't at full strength, nor were they particularly impressive in that fight.

Kakuzus spare hearts seal this for me. Even kakashi got caught off guard

Kakuzu wins with 2 hearts to spare imho. Only because of the age and loss of chakra and stamina though. Kakuzu was superior to Orochimaru at that point imo and went head to head with the First hokage (though the details are unknown and clearly he was more than likely stomped) so he more than experienced which we all know plays a large role in Naruto fights. Also he is a team buster and would've solo'd both team Kakashi AND team Yamato were it not for plot smh

@roronuffy: The most certain thing is that it destroys a heart but this I do not think that it is immediately begins the fight it is most probable that when it destroys to him 1 heart is very tired and wounded in second kakuzu has a better defense thanks to the doton
