I think Superman could go toe to toe with the Pheonix, with the help of the others I think JLA has this one.

I think if you threw in Martian Manhunter the JLA would win pretty easily.

The SUN EATER eats suns too, that gives no bearing on it's abilty to beat the JLA.

The scope of Dark Pheonix's powers would enable her to win eventually.

She can drain energy from a any source. Her TK powers virtually have no limit of a small and gross csles (move around individual atoms or massive objects). Her telepathic powers are also massive.

She could drain energy from Superman (Solar) and G Lantern (ring energy).

Her Telepathic powers could overwhelm the entire team should she so wish or she could cause their atoms to fly apart.

She can just absorb everybody's energy, tear them apart molecularly. Or just send them into a blackhole. So I don't really see the JLA winning.

This is a sad case. Course, the JSA would lose but eventually the plot armor would pick up and save them from some eventual death...as always.

th phoenix is the cosmic force of destruction and rebirth, useing its power in excess actually drains away the energy to create new life.
also as was said before the phoonix consumes stars and entire solar systems, its hand down phoenix.

the only weakness of the phoenix lies in the host.
