Joker. Marvel characters, especially those ones, have too many psychological issues to exploit -- it won't be the bombs that defeats them, it'll be the avengers themselves.

Wouldn't that take out most of the electronics in the city, causing essentially the same amount of damage as the bombs themselves due to completely crashing most forms of modern infrastructure in the city?

Well, turning off a city temporarily is WAY better than see it explode killing hundreds of lives. Also, im pretty sure Stark has something to counter an EMP, he will just use it right after finding all the bombs.

EMPs trash all electronics, and that's pretty catastrophic. Like, that's essentially something a terrorist would do. There really isn't any real world countermeasure against an EMP as it literally just blows out all the electronics. I'm not sure about comic plot device fake countermeasure, but I'm just saying that EMPing a city is never the best solution.

@juiceboks: Martian Manhunter couldn't contain Jokers mind, would Professor X be able to?

@calebhara He actually did for a little bit. Noted it was a huge strain but I think Charles can do the same.

@juiceboks: My point is, Charles can only contain the Joker for a short period of time, under a huge strain. We seem to agree on this. So, Joker really has no reason to commit suicide, and Charles won't really be able to do anything severe to his mind.

@calebhara He doesn't have to contain him, just send him into epileptic shock or turn him into a drooling moron. However insane he may be, that doesnt equate to resistance to tp attacks. Unless of course he has actually displayed that but I don't think he has.

Thor uses the Mjolnir, and dropped a beam on the Joker and this last, dies horribly.

A less than be Emperor Joker or, in certain circumstances you get a powerful artifact, The Joker could defeat the Avengers, otherwise, it dies.

Ironman finds him brings him back to New York. Then captain America says hulk smash and he almost kills joker. Then thor sets his hammer on him. Then they all just pound him till he eventually dies

I came into this thread thinking "Ohhh why do you put the joker against such unfair odds" but reading those comments and thinking about it deeply i think the joker has a 50/50 chance.

A lot of marvel characters don't really have a villain that exploits them mentally, they don't have anyone like the joker "as far as i know". I see it the joker finding a way to make every super hero look like a villain by the end of the day, maybe put a bomb in the statue of liberty, maybe inside an oil tanker but have it tied to a flint lighter or maybe go alittle dark knight style and have an IED insides peppers stomach..

And the thing about the joker is he would probably expect to die. As the hulk smashes his skull in he would have the biggest laugh in the world

Those two solutions are crap and useless here.

Cerebro has never been used to sense someone off planet so given the astronomical range, any influence he exerts will be faint and given Joker's already sufficiently high telepathy resistance it will be all but useless.

Iron Man can't risk an EMP because that will kill everyone in the city on life support or with a pacemaker. Joker would have thought of that anyways and used a failsafe that detonates the explosion should the mechanical switch not receive an electronic signal. An EMP would just set them off prematurely. The Joker wins.

Also, since when did the Avengers become merciless killers? None of them can lay a finger on him because he is just a crazy person. How many times have the Avenger's killed Norman Osborn? None, I thought so. Beating him will yield no useful information as his pain tolerance is too high. The Avengers have never faced someone like him so they will be ill equipped to deal with him.

Good, you know how to use hypothetical scenarios... Avengers still do this effortlessly. Even Jarvis can tell them where are all the bombs...

In this mess of characters, the only that really can catch Joker is professor X. Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cap, absolutely useless. Iron-Man is a genius with tech, but he don't know nothing about how understand and fight a psychopath like Joker...and also Reed Richards.
