@rolldestroyer: This isnt a battle just a comparison. You cant measure evil and they're very different. Joker is insane evil while Darkseid is conqueror like.
Darkseid. Joker's usually trying to make a point, or playing out his obsession with Batman. Darkseid is evil. He just is. He plays out the darker side (pun intended) of the universe, trying to take choice and autonomy from life.
I'm going with Joker. He's pretty much done every evil thing in the book.
I'd say Darkseid is more evil but there still both very evil.
Not a battle.
And Darkseid is far more evil, he is the god of of evil.
Even though it's not a battle, I think you've made a great comparison for debate here. Both are pretty darned evil... so it's hard to say definitively. And I don't know that I would go so far as to say Darkseid is the manifestation of evil itself. There are instances where the case could be made that he is, but I am of the opinion that he is not. He didn't start out as being pure evil... he was simply a god from Apokolips who sought power above all else and steadily became more and more corrupted as he grew in power and did evil things.

Darkseid, Joker isn't really evil, he's just insane
The Specter saying that the Joker is not responsible for his action's cheapen's the character.
Darkseid, he's kinda like Hitler, while Joker is one of those guys who kill, but can't help themselves cause they lost their rights as people in the public or something else like that. Darkseid is full evil doesn't want to prove a point just does it for the hell of it. Joker on the other hand is the opposite.

The battle forum is for actual fights between characters. Things like 'who has the coolest power' or 'who gets the most chicks' ARE NOT BATTLES. Just because you put 'vs' in the title, does not automatically make it battle forum worthy. They should be placed in general discussion or in off-topic (depending on what they're about). As well, fights with characters who are not comic book or manga characters or haven't featured predominantly in comic books or manga (Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris, Barney Stinson vs Joey Tribbian etc) do not belong in the battle forum, either.
This has been discussed between the battle forum mods a bit. These are guidelines for what does and does not constitute a battle.
@heroesgold: I back this as thats who Kirby was trying to compare him to.Plus Joker only does that to get batman attention and spite him while Darkseid is evil because thats who he is.
Joker. He does things for the sake of evil, because he's evil. He knows he's evil, and has no delusions about any of his actions. He seeks to be evil, and will always try to be the bane of all things good.
Darkseid may be self-serving, but he's also for Apokolips. What he does isn't for the sake of being evil, he does it for other reasons.

This is outright wrong.
Darkseid was willing to plunge Multiverse into darkness despite having no Apokolips to protect. Darkseid will forever be the most evil person in DC universe.
The Joker only seeks to take down Batman. Everything he does is all a means to this end. Good and evil literally mean nothing to him as they are concepts outside of his understanding. There is only Batman and not Batman. Also, the Spectre himself can't touch him, so he is in canon, completely not evil.
Probably Darkseid. Joker.... just has mental issues. Joker : Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force...meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible, aren't you? Huh? You won't kill me...out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you...because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.
Darkseid an Joker are 2 very different kinds of evil. Overall I would say Darkseid.
Joker
Last time I heard nobody ever killed a bunch of people saying 'im darkseid'
Colorado man
thats ....
effd up
darkseid technically joker i not evil he just so insane that he can't tell between whats good or bad thats why spectre couldn't judge him
Joker isn't evil, he's apathetic. He does whatever he wants when he wants because he doesn't see any reason not to. He tends to do more "bad" things than "good" things for two reasons: 1. the idea of death is entertaining to him, he finds the very idea that someone could care so much about their own meaningless life to be hilarious. And 2. To get Batman's attention.
Darkdeid, Joker is just a crazy.
It might depend on which version of Darkseid and the Joker are being used. Jack Kirby's Darkseid had a few quirks that made him considerably noble, or at least he had pretentions of nobility.
He wouldn't kill children*, for example, or needlessly hurt anybody, and constantly noted that he was not amused by mere cruelty, berating Desaad's actions. He also said it would pain him to hurt the Forever People. He also cared about his son Orion and what happened to him, at least until he had his men shoot him in a suprise attack. He also initially seemed reluctant to bomd New Genesis with plagues. I'll agree that Darkseid as the decades passed became more and more evil until becoming one of the most evil beings in comics but he wasn't always that way (he was just pretty evil, not pure evil).
I'll agree that overall, Darkseid is far more evil than the Joker based on his forty + year history.
(I'll admit he may not like killing/torture solely because he'd rather have as many healthy bodies as possible for his despair filled mind slaves once he gains the ALE, but I dunno)
