Jean Grey without the Phoenix Force.  (Can Jean be at full power without the Phoenix Force? If so then use Jean at full power without Phoenix Force)
Apocalypse at full power.
Blood lust is on and both are fully rested.  Battle takes place in South Dakota.  No prep.

Apoc is very one dimensional in what he can do.  He just swings at enemies and regenerates, hes smart too I guess but Jean busts minds.  If Stryfe can humiliate Apocalypse 1v1, then Jean can too.  And it will be via mindbuster rather than those love taps Stryfe was landing on Apoc.

@benjamin_kch: Apocalypse also defeated both Xavier and Jean in The Twelve, via telepathy and that was done with ease.

Apoc's telepathy has generally been watered down and weak.

Does anyone have that scan of Apocalypse telepathically defeating Xavier? It was in The Twelve.  Go to KMC Forums under Apocalypse respect/appreciation or whatever thread.

@Phoenix of the Black Throne: Magneto let himself get captured by Apocalypse in AOA because they had his son.  If both are at full power, then Magneto defeats Apocalypse.  Magneto was not at full power in The Twelve.

@Phoenix of the Black Throne: Magneto also easily defeated Apocalypse in HOM.

Magneto was depowered in "The Twelve" storyline. He was relying on Cortez for energy boosts and his lack of power is what made Apocalypse's machine fail.  When he finally tapped into Polaris abilities, he kicked butt.

What makes you think that Magneto was at full power in The Twelve?

who is talking about AOA?  you claim that Magento can beat Apoc, but other than AOA he has not, you give excuses for him being caught, but the fact remains that nobody knew Magneto was weak (not depowered) because he flew under his own power to meet Xavier and Xmen in the issue where the last of  the 12 were gathered, he was not without power just not able to cause planetary damage which he did with a machine anyway.  His capture took next to no force considering he threatened to kill all the xmen at once to stop Apocs plans and the two most powerful telepaths on the planet seemed to think he at least had the power to try. "
 1.  Part of Apocalypse' molecular make up is nanotech. Magneto controls electromagnetism, which means he has absolute control of the material Apocalypse is made of and the energy it runs on. Apocalypse is a sitting duck.
Electromagnetism is the force that holds all matter together, it is one of the most prevelant forces in phsyics. Any tech that Pocky throws at Magneto, Magneto has control over.
Apocalypse IS partiality metal and runs on electricity and Magneto has a natural ranged attack.
We have seen Magneto recently using Celestial tech to get his powers back.
The only reason Magneto stood down is because Apocalypse was holding his son hostage. As soon as Charles safety was assured in X-Men: Omega...well, then Daddy took the gloves off and ripped Apocalypse in half.

I think taking on someone as powerful as Apocalypse would prove to be overwhelming for Jean. True, it would be a great fight and both would struggle without a doubt but in the end, Apocalypse's relentlessness would drain Jean physically and mentally. She'd give in and he'd stand the victor... I'd be rooting for her though.

@cracks:  You mean don't underestimate Jean. If there's anyone that tends to come back or pull through from doomed situations it's Jean Grey. BUT... that's usually with aid of the Phoenix Force and you've already stated that's against the rules. So I stand by my original deduction.

@cracks: I don't know if I completely agree with that. Jean Grey is the perfect host for the Phoenix and has called herself the Phoenix but the actual Phoenix is something else entirely. How can it be part of her mutant evolution if she was not born with it?

No, she - like many, many others before her, is a physical avatar of the Phoenix. It has no relation to even the concept of mutation at all.

That sounds like bad writing.  Theres no way Apocalypse is equal telepathically to Xavier, let alone Jean.  You see, when you are talking about mind busting potential very few are above Professor X.

@cracks: Apocalypse has complete control over his atomic structure. He could then become something that isn't metal. Magneto can't control all electromagnetism in anything. If that were the case he would have the power to beat Galactus and his heralds. Also in his wikipedia page it says he struggles to manipulating matter on a subatomic level, here is the link
