Jango Fett vs General Grievous
Movie Version= Could go either way
Cartoon Version= Grievous stomps. If the guy beat 6 jedi simultaenously and then held his own against a clone gunship, he can own Jango.
@herokiller12344: Well, the OP didn't say which version, so we're going to go for the awesome one. Also, Clone Wars happens before episode three, so all feats from the series are valid. In the movie, Grievous is really sick with jobberitis, so his showing there hardly counts.
I assume not General Greivous when he got his lungs crushed aka movie version, so Cartoon version stomps.
Grievous. Grievous takes out Clone Troopers left and right without a sweating. Grievous is also deceptively quick, and can cover ground in a matter of seconds when he changes forms into 'spider' Grievous.
Grievous also has the ability to take multiple blaster shots as long as they are not aimed at his lungs/hearts which are protected by armor. One shot with the light saber and Jango is dead. The mandolrian armor he has can't stop a saber.
Jango is a bad match for Grievous due to his range. Grievous only wins if he is blaster proof and he uses his gun to shoot Jango.
If they are stuck in a room together Grievous would cut Jango up.
Still Jango in a decent fight.
Could go either way, I think.

Jango has absolutely no means of victory. Blasters bounce off of Grievous. Explosives bounce off of Grievous. Laser cannons, the interior of a shuttle explosion, hell a factory covering most of a moon exploding at it's nexus wasn't enough to put Grievous down. Jango's best armaments would be utterly laughed off by Grievous, indisputably. That's not even mentioning that Grievous outclasses him as a martial artist, in every physical attribute by a mile, and has lightsabers and claws which will quite easily render Jango a puddle. I've read every appearance on both so there's no debate to be had here. This thread should be locked.
@i_like_swords: I was using canon Grievous only.
@alextheboss: Canon Grievous has shrugged off explosive barrels and the force of being inside a shuttle as it explodes, which is way more than anything Jango has.
@i_like_swords: Yes, I know. However he his eyes are still vulnerable and Obi-wan showed his chest can easily be opened. A direct hit with his jet-pack missile would do the trick, however I do think Grievous would dodge it. As long as Grievous can close the distance he will win, but if Jango manages to stay away and keeps shooting blasts at Grievous' head, that would probably finish him.
@alextheboss: Yeah, but it wouldn't. Being inside a shuttle when it explodes is an all-encompassing explosion. He's been tested against better explosives with more power and range than Jango's missile and come out unscathed. Obi-Wan, an extremely powerful Force wielder who channelled the Force into ripping open Grievous' chest plate has nothing to do with Jango. It's also a different damage type; one is blunt force, the other is explosive. Evidently Grievous is better against one than the other. Jango can't win. Adding in Legends would make it a joke because Grievous has deflected blaster bolts with his hands in that source, and I'm sure Canon Grievous has deflected blaster bolts at some point anyway. He can certainly dodge them, anyway. He danced around the blaster fire of a Deathwatch commander in Son of Dathomir and stabbed him casually.
Is this canon or EU ? Jango definitely wins canon, but EU could go either way. I'd still say Jango, but EU would be much closer.
Jango doesn't win Canon or EU. Grievous tears him apart in Legends, and despite the jobbing that he can do in TCW, he's still indisputably superior to Jango.
@i_like_swords: Obi-wan opened his chest-plate with his physical strength alone. You don't need to be a force user to do that. Explosions have kinetic energy. If a missile got a direct hit, the force could destroy grievous' organs, even if his armor isn't penetrated. If Grievous can be taken down by gungans, Jango at least has a chance.
@alextheboss: Like most of us, Grievous underestimated the Gungans of Naboo during their battle and I will make an argument that it was a legitimate victory over Grievous. The Gungans are mainly a hunter/gatherer type culture, resulting in many of them having training in basic and intermediate weaponry. Being hunters, they set an excellent trap/snare for Grievous. Also, the Gungans have been fighting since the events surrounding the Phantom Menace which means they have gained experience in the art of fighting. Not only that, they specifically have training against droids. George Lucas has gone on record stating that GG is 20% man, 80% robot. The Gungans in that battle used ion grenades and spear points to subdue GG into submission.
That was a good win for the Gungans, and well deserved in my opinion. A perfect storm.
Upon doing additional research it is obvious that NONE of the Clone Troopers has even given GG any trouble all. In fact GG eats them for lunch in pretty much anytime he faces one. Since the Clones are replicas of Jango Fett, it is easy to assume that Jango would get shredded by GG. Many of the Clones were also trained by Jango Fett themselves, and apparently tactics taught by Jango Fett do not match up against the power of GG.
In Sons of Dathomir, GG also ran through Mandalorians without breaking a sweat. Jango fett uses mandalorian type weaponry/armor and also applies their tactics and mindset in his fighting.
If the Mandolorians or Clones had better showings against GG then I would argue otherwise.
GG is incredibly agile, can shrug off blaster bolts, and a master of the light saber. One hit from the light saber KILLS Jango Fett. All Grievous has to do is attack either Jango himself or focus on the jetpack. Anytime a Mandolorian loses their jet back, they become significantly weaker (See Maul vs Pre Viszela and Jango Fett vs Mace Windu).
If this battle takes place in any indoor setting Grievous will win 9/10 times. If it is in an open plane, then Grievous wins 7/10 times.
@floopay: He may. But it has never been shown in the movie verse or novels. It may have been apart of the comic books (I've never read them).
But it has never been confirmed that Jango Fett has ion or anti-droid weaponry on him.
@sincereagape: I can agree with that.
