this has been bugging me ever since the avengers movie
Iron Man VS Thor
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Movie versions were pretty even. But a non jobbing comic Thor should dominate ironman.
that was honesty the only thing in that movie I didn't quite get i was oping thor would weck his face
Yeah, Iron Man is the big star of Avengers, so they didn't want him to look weak, but realistically, a fight between he and Thor should end like his.

he completely deserved that too for all the shit he pulled in civil war
@drunkvader: what I didn't get in avengers.
Thor > iron man
Thor = hulk
Loki > Thor
Hulk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Loki

hahahaha very true i love it when people makes sense in nice sweet short epic comments
Iron man holds his own, but cannot inflict any real measure of permanent damage on Thor. Thor on the other hand is capable of damaging iron man.
Thor uses his superior durability to gradually wear iron man down, damaging his armor to the point where it is no longer useful, then he takes it.
IMO Thor was holding back against Stark and Hulk in The Avengers. He had no visible damage from Iron Man in their forest battle, even after Stark grinded Thors face against a mountain. I'm assuming he took a punch from Hulk on the helicarrier as to why his nose was bleeding, which if he did, is impressive as Hulk one-shotted a space Leviathan.
Bottom line is, is it doesn't matter if it's movies or comics Thor will always put Iron Man in his place if he's serious. The only thing Stark is beating Thor in, is a physics test
@allstarsuperman: Man-made prison of glass > Thor And Loki!
@allstarsuperman: Man-made prison of glass > Thor And Loki!
It's probably highly reinforced Polymers than actual glass.
Just saying.

i wouldnt say so since the drop from the helicarrier shattered the glass prison
drop from helicarrier >>>>>> thor
@spm1m: Hawkeye > the human inability to breath at 30,000 feet in the air
1 arrow > hellicarrier
hellicarrier > Thor
1 arrow > Thor
perfect logic

lol to hell with avengers... jk it was still entertaining
@spm1m: Yeah the lightheartedness and fun factor of the movie make you forgive the inconsistency in it lol.
@xxxddd: just because he had the odinforce that doesn't necessary means he taped into her further when he says that the only difference is that he wasn't holding back.

I think they just wanted to add in a slightly humorous scene/show Hulk's power while downgrading Thor's. :/

it really was dumb though, if Loki put up a good fight against Thor, then he should very well have fought Hulk equally.

Loki basically grossly underestimated Hulk. That is pretty evident by the way Loki talks to Hulk right before Hulk tosses him around. I'm pretty convinced that in a re-match Loki would win, simply because he's now fully aware of what Hulk is capable of, and he'd be smart enough not to let Hulk get that close to him again.
Most of Iron Man's suits wouldn't be able to take thor down but there a few that can such the Godkiller Armor and Godbuster Armor. Uru Armor would also give Thor a good fight.
Current Iron Man would lose pretty badly if this is current MCU versions. Take away Stormbreaker then Iron Man would beat him in a good fight(or handily if he's only at his Ragnarok level).
If it's avengers movie then Thor for a slight majority
So... MCU or 616? Either way Thor stomps if he's serious.
@ccbm2208: To be fair that's the director's fault for not making the gap between Thor and Irob Man big enough
@lilbroomstick: Russos as inconsistent as they were still had Thor casually one shotted iron man in End game like he should.

The Russos also made Iron Man outclass Hulk in essentially everything except for lifting strength and made Captain Marvel considerably stronger than everyone LMAO Comic Thor has rarely ever been able to oneshot 616 Iron Man since Tony is able to take multiple hits from people stronger than Thor.
@lilbroomstick: Iron man didn't out class hulk in anything to be honest. The only thing he has is versatility and flashy weapons. He put his all into his fight with Thanos and could only cause a paper cut sized wound.Thanos then proceed to tear his armor to pieces. For reference Thanos could only bruise Banner up a bit and gave him some cuts here and there with more hits to weak spots. He lasted longer than hulk because he is far more skilled and versatile.A fight between those 2 I would imagine Tony doing some damage but not much and then get his armor torn apart by hulk.
I won't comment on CM because I don't know she compares to other heroes in Earth-616.
Was talking about movie feats since IW protrayed Thor as being so much more powerful and End game Thor is suppose to be even more powerful than that so him one shotting Iron man made sense.I do know that 616 Iron man is probably a legit high tier with his stronger suits by now, maybe even higher ?
@ccbm2208: Iron Man's hits could actually force Thanos back despite him blocking and having the Infinity gauntlet. We saw earlier in the movie that Ragnarok Thor was either fodderized by Thanos or by black order members even weaker than Thanos. Hulk's punches to Thano's face were actually laughed off and weren't even attempted to be blocked which sucks in comparison to what Iron Man did. Not to mention Iron Man had already been tanking attacks since the beginning of the movie before his armor broke in Infinity War. The Endgame armor was considerably more durable but Tony himself was weaker since he was an old family man that hasn't fought in years. Cull Obsidian is actually somewhat of Hulk's equal and Iron Man could've beat him.
Captain Marvel is someone who wasn't even a threat to high tiers unless she absorbed a nuke. That all changed by the time she got to the MCU but even now she's still not consistently strong.
In the comics, Tony has several armors that are roughly on par or even exceed Thor but generally he's a low-high tier but like right above basically anyone who isn't as strong as Hulk/Thor. Thorbuster is one of the armors that's stronger then Thor and it's arguably teambuster tier due to being able to give a vastly amped Thor a good fight. Tony really remains a low-high tier(or lower depending on the armor) because he doesn't trust himself with power and the Godbuster is the perfect example of this. The Godbuster oneshot two gods(one in the real world and one in the digital world) that would at least have some reality warping to seem godlike. Iron heart had claimed it was the most powerful thing she's seen and she has been around Thor. The Godbuster was so powerful that Tony feared it and destroyed it immediately after it did it's job. It was supposed to be the most powerful armor Tony could ever create. Bleeding edge was another example since he gave the government an off switch for it. He even created Stark Sentinels while mindcontrolled to be bloodlusted which soloed the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic four.
