Until tony makes a Sentrybuster armor he won't be beating Superman
You mean like the Phoenix Buster or the God Killer suits? Yeah, they are both more than powerful enough for Superman. However, in this fight he has been limited to only the Thor Buster suit.....However, he has also been given a year of prep and full knowledge on Superman and no rule saying he can't alter the suit by adding tech to it. With a year of prep and full knowledge, provided he could get his hands on Kryptonite I could see him taking it. Add lightning tech to the suit(Something Superman has shown to have trouble with on multiple occasions), Add tech to emit Red Sun Radiation, Add tech to emit Kryptonite, or Just add Kryptonite to the unibeam and repulsors...many more things he could do.
Thorbuster, year of prep, and full knowledge is an extremely one-sided fight in favor of Iron Man....
Superman bests Lex Luthor on a daily basis. Tony Stark is a pale imitation of Luthor, in fact, he's a copy of another Superman villain--Metallo.
@leo-343he's not on par with Reed or Doom(Lex's Marvel counterpart) from what I've been told by Marvel fans. Plus...

Superman stands no chance against Stark with full knowledge and one year prep.
I'm assuming this is a shared universe. Tony starts with the Thorbuster, as per the instructions. It is run by magical energy, so right there he starts evening out the odds. Next, he adds repulsors that shoot red sun radiation. Sonic weapons are next, along with kryptonite missiles and bullets.
Finally, just to be safe, he adds vibranium and/or adamantium plating over the armor for extra protection, possibly with kryptonite dust in between layers in case Superman manages to tear some of it off.
I could see Tony making a suit similar to the one Batman made with miniature reds suns built into the fists. I also wouldnt put it past Tony to lure Supes into a room filled with red sun light like Luthor once did.
The possibilities are endless as giving Stark a full year with his resources doesn't bode well for ole Supes.
Iron man, prep time really makes a difference in this case. I'm guessing Supermen finds out he's about to battle Tony, underestimates him and one year of prep does the rest.
Stark usually comes up with plot powers that would help him here. A cloud made of Nanobots that creates pulses of concentrated red-sun energy or kryptonite radiation would be enough, or an energy draining field, if Superman decided to act dumb and just speedblitz him.

Sentry have no exploitable weaknesses, he tried already but he couldn't find anything. But he doesn't need to outclass Superman physically, a field of red-sun radiation or kryptonite radiation could do the trick, and the Thor Buster cand endure at least one hit.
@hiddenlight: True, but still he doesn't know supes weakness and that would be the only chance he could prolly figure it out with having a durable suit to at least take a beating as he some how came up with a plot device to figure it out and win. XD
Ironman stomps wih prep.
ironman wears the pheonix buster over the hulkbuster over bleeding edge over thor buster and overkills
@kingant27: My omniscience is a bit wonky, it's just been one of those days
