Only way they beat Thanos was his being duped by Nebula so unless they've got some equivalent leverage against Darkseid, I'd say if Darkseid has the Infinity Gauntlet he wins. If he doesn't have the guantlet why even bother sending all of them, Silver Surfer alone could wipe the floor with him.
The Time Keeper says:
"Darkseid wins if and ONLY if he has the gauntlet."
Keep in mind...
1] They aren't just facing Darkseid, but all of Apokalips' defenses as well.
2] The Infinity Gauntlet doesn't work in the DCU and does not factor into this fray.
Shatterstar says:

Not quite... Thanos subconsciously knew he was unfit for ultimate power and orchestrated his own defeat. Nebula just happened to be the instrument his subconscious chose to enact his downfall.
Silver Surfer alone could wipe the floor with [Darkseid]."
Not even on his best day.

A likely excuse. Thanos is a sore loser.
&
Darkseid <<<< Silver Surfer
Sorry about my earlier post. I hadn't researched the other side well.
Darkseid still wins though, and he could smash Silver Surfer easily. Heck, even Hulk beat Silver Surfer. Darkseid has more weapons and his strength surpasses Hulk-plus he has an entire planet of warriors!
Numbers > Heroes
Just look at what an infinite amount of Sentinels did to the X-Men.

A likely excuse? Or the actual written excuse presented at the end of the Infinity Gauntlet?
The latter is true. Every time Thanos obtains ultimate power he subconsciously wills it so that he is defeated, he did this way back when he obtained a Cosmic Cube [Thanos War I], he did it when he created the Super Gem [Thanos War II], he did it again in the Infinity Gaunlet [as I've already mentioned], and lastly even when he obtained the Heart of the Universe and destroyd everything, he simply put things back the way they were.
This isn't just a likely excuse, it is the Titan's orignal character flaw instilled by his creator, writer Jim Starlin.
Secondly, cite an instance where you find Darkseid being beaten by an energy manipulator even similar to the Silver Surfer and I will rescind my statement that Surfer couldn't beat Darkseid on his best day. Good luck with that...
Subconscious schmubsconscious, he screwed up and left his body. Unless he consciously handed it over to her, he got duped. Warlock just gave him that existentialist psychobabble pep talk so he wouldn't spend a month sulking on Strange's couch, watching Oprah, and filling the empty void that was infinite power with Haagen-daz, cheesy poofs, and light beer. Basically Warlock had to dupe him again to get him back in the fight and gave him a "there-there buddy sure you're a screw up but at least you're a spectacular screw up." At least thats how I would interpret it to hold up my argument.
As far as Surfer vs. Darkseid goes, I'd say it comes down to which is more powerful Omega or Power Cosmic, a fully pissed off and powered up Surfer is pretty much a god potentially more powerful than Galactus, not just a energy manipulator, and I'd go with him. If Galactus can shrug off Darkseid like he did in their crossover, Surfer can too if he willed it. Not to mention the good guy always wins. It'd be an interesting fight, Surfer who pretty much is as powerful as he wills it vs. Darkseid who wants to destroy free will. Citation? I guess the Darkseid vs. Galactus crossover one shot. Also Starfire negating the Omega Effect with starbolts. X-Men/Teen Titans x-over Dark Phoenix just dragged him to the edge of the universe, no reason Surfer couldn't do that either.

Surfer takes out the Apokalipian defenses (yes, by himself), and the rest of the heroes dog-pile Darkseid FTW.
Where's the Darkseid/Apokalips guru when you need him?
[And no Gambit, I'm not talking about the X-Men's foe: Apocalypse, I mean Apokalips, Darkseid's homeworld.]
I don't think its going to be a cakewalk for the Surfer to dispatch all of Apokalips' defense network.
Don't get me wrong, I still think the day is won by the IG heroes, but I think it'll be a lot closer than what's being said in this thread.
No, I agree, but i read the Darkseid/Galactus crossover and Silver Surfer was pretty much b*tchslapping everyone who got in his master's way.
I say Adam's Army wins!
