Indominus Rex is a new attraction in Jurassic World. The hybrid was created by combining the genetic traits of multiple species. Some of the known species that were used in the creation of the hybrid are Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Carnotaurus, Gigantosaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops and Therizinosaurus as well as modern animals like cuttlefish and an unspecified species of Tree frog.

Powers & Abilities

Jurassic World‘s creators have been reluctant to outline the full breakdown of Indominus rex’s genetic source but Wu teases a few throughout the film. As a result, I’ve put together a breakdown of the most important ingredients – accompanied by an explanation of how each DNA source is expressed/utilized by the hybrid dinosaur:

  • Tyrannosaurus rex: The base framework for Indominus rex’s genome. Provided a powerful musculature – including heavy tail and jaws (capable of crushing bone) – paired with agile and swift movement (relative to the creature’s size).
  • Abelisaurs – In general, the inclusion of Abelisaur DNA exaggerated T-rex traits – making Indominus bigger and tougher than a standard Tyrannosaur. Specifically: enormous 40ft+ size (Giganotosaurus), more teeth (Majungasaurus) ultra-tough bony osteoderms (Rugops) with “hornlike” growths (Carnotaurus) over the eyes and along the back for defensive protection.
  • Cuttlefish: Camouflage. Alteration of skin pigmentation, through the combined efforts of chromatophores and reflective iridophores and leucophores, Indominus could blend into the surrounding environment – reducing visibility while hunting (or hiding).
  • Tree Frog: Thermoregulation through color alteration and lowered metabolic functions – allowed the Indominus rex to avoid infrared detection (an added layer of stealth on top of environmental camouflage).

Pit Adder: Infrared (heat sensing) vision. Conversely, Indominus rex “sees” in infrared – allowing the apex predator to sense hidden or obscured prey (as well as target especially vulnerable areas on an attacker’s body).

Velociraptor: While Indominus rex received its enormous size from T-rex and Abelisaur DNA, its brain was engineered from problem-solving intelligent Velocripators. Above-average intellect allowed Indominus rex to sense patterns in paddock security – as well as set traps by utilizing inherited traits to exploit vulnerabilities in Jurassic World‘s containment systems. Including Velociraptor DNA also enabled Indominus rex to communicate with “normal” raptors and, given the hybrid’s size and durability, secure a place as the new pack alpha.

In every hive, the Queen is the largest and most intelligent female. She is usually the mother of every Drone and Warrior in the hive, since she is the only one to lay eggs. The Queen Alien is the primary antagonist of Aliens franchise films, and Alien Vs Predator.

Queens are much larger than Drones and Warriors. They stand approximately twenty feet tall at the hip. They have twin sets of arms and are built more similarly to a large theropod dinosaur than a humanoid. They also have a much larger braincase than the average adult Xenomorph, protected by a large crest above their heads. They also have a slightly stronger tail, which can be used as a weapon, along with their limbs and inner jaw, as shown in the climactic battle with Ripley in Aliens. Due to their immense size, they are extremely strong.

Another well-known feature is the immense ovipositor in the Queen's lower torso, which is responsible for creating eggs (similar to a queen termite). She is able to detach from the ovipositor in an emergency, and will regenerate a new one when the danger is over. Queens also have a higher ability to relate cause and effect, and to make observations and deductions, allowing them a rudimentary understanding of technology in the same way as some primates - ex. The Queen's use of an elevator on LV-426.

The Queen is also considered to be the strongest caste of Xenomorph, able to evenly fight Ripley in a Power Loader in Aliens. Queens seem more resilient to damage than the rest of the hive (even when adjusted for size), as demonstrated in Alien vs. Predator. She receives several deep throat wounds and is speared through the head, and yet remains alive.

--RULES--

- Alien Queen has alot of drones with her

- This is set on Isla Sorna

@kyrees: No, the dna from the tree frog gave the I-Rex the ability to camouflage.

@kyrees: No, the dna from the tree frog gave the I-Rex the ability to camouflage.

i've watched the movie twice and there's no mention of any snake dna and as far as i remember, the two stated dnas by wu had extra effects.

not even the movie website states a pit adder dna.
