Who wins?

There are to my knowledge; well over a dozen different comic book versions of Optimus Prime. Transformers canon is broken up into various groups. Some Optimuses would stomp Iron Man, some would tie, some would get stomped.

Movie Prime is brutal and impossibly skilled at close quarters yes, but he'd go down.

I'd say that IDW Prime is the best matchup given that he has the most feats, one of them being pumping Thunderwing, who was able to fight off Omega Supreme who IIRC could lift 300,000 tons one handed, with enough Dakka to stop him in his tracks.

Optimus put a nice hole in Sixshot's chest in one shot, who was able to tank a mauling from Metroplex, so we can see that Optimus isn't lacking in strength. He also put down Cthulhu with buzzsaw hands which is awesome but I'm not sure how relevant it is.

In terms of sheer dakka I say Optimus had the edge, but most people in transformers never do any lifting feats ever, and we only have Toy bios to go by. Optimus is only a bit behind Grimlock in strength, and Grimlock is rated as a 2000+ ton lifter. But Iron man can still fly.

Then again, IDW Optimus' Cybertronian mode looks like this.

Guns on the shoulder, guns on the wrist, guns in his hands, guns on his hips.

I feel like the fact that Tony is inside the armour, and prime is prime himself gives prime an edge. for that I say prime. I dont know of what i said makes sense though...

That picture is not IDW optimus. That said, Optimus should win. Hulk Buster has been beaten by Hulk and Prime has strength around Thor level. He also managed to incinerate Thunderwing and Megatron with his Ion Blaster after they took a couple hits from Prime

Optimus Prime has fought some crazy villains, so he probably wins.
