Kenshin takes this, both scenarios captins sheild could serve as a problem, but a very temporary problem, especially when Kenshin has no morals, this fight should end quickly. With no morals he is one of the most skillful, deadliest swordsman in fiction.
@deathhero61: Don't hate him, thought this would be a decent fight.
You guys are either downplaying Cap; or up-playing Kenshin.
Cap would win this in a fairly close fight.
Kenshin takes this via speed.
Not bad, now let me show you REAL combat speed. I'm not talking about playing with those little swords either, it's more about timing/dodging/blocking bullets and surfing on jets.
By the way, I remember in Rurouni Kenshin when Kenshin and his friends were completely helpless against a Gatling gun which is outdated technology. These guys aren't in the same league as good ol Cap'n America.
Helpless against a Gatling gun? I remember Kenshin taking out said Gatling gun.
Hmm? Or you speaking of a diff instance? Been awhile since I have seen Kenshin.
Yeah, that's the instance, but the animated version isn't what happened in the comic or manga.
Kenshin had to run from the gun while several members of the Oniwaban got gunned down. He basically was able to survive because the bad guy ran out of bullets. In the anime Kenshin wasn't the guy who jammed the gun either, it was Hanya who died to do that. Not that I'm saying Kenshin is a chump or anything, but in the comic and anime he was running away from the gun while other people died tanking the bullets.
Kenshin should be able to take both rounds simply because of his speed but I think Cap takes round one due to his shield and Kenshin's hesitation to use his more advanced moves against a fellow good guy. Round 2 means that Kenshin adds another body to his long list.
Kenshin, cap is a shit character
Alright, I realize this is a really old thread and I don't really have any new information, but I think all Kenshin fans found the Gatling gun feat kind of disconcerting, seeing as how Kenshin has a slew of feats that would seem to put him at around Cap's speed, and I have a theory about that.
I feel that what it really boils down to is the difference in culture. When fighting their respective rivals they both show incredible feats, but when it cones to guns I feel that it boils to this:
In Japan the introduction of guns essentially ended the age of the samurai, so it makes sense that some of the most intimidating opponents involve automatic weapons, as Kenshin is meant to be based loosely on history.
On the other hand we have Captain America, who comes from a world where guns are common, and so you can't be much of a hero without being able to deal with guns.
In essence I feel like guns in Kenshin's world basically have PIS fields around them, since historically they were the mark of the end of what was essentially the samurai era.
Not sure if this will change anybody's mind, but I just felt like getting it out there.
@doom_phd: I've always been a little hazy on that, does he see them in legit slow motion or does he just see more of the bullet's path than most humans do? (Like a camera which records at higher fps)
If it's the former then life must be really frustrating, because if bullets are in slow motion then I can only imagine what a line at the DMV would look like.
Well when he mention this, he was jumping over bullets. So I believe he is actually seeing the bullets in the air so it's the latter
When I get home I'll post a scan of pics when Kenshin was dodging bullets point blank. It should be a good fight though. Kenshin as Battosai which is him blood lusted, was known to be able to fight hundreds of swordsmen and won.
Cap america is only peak human, his shield while powerful in defense all the superior enemy needs to do is grab it or get around it
Kenshin is a superhuman samurai
