Doesn't every character look unstopable in their own series, and from what i rember Dante was killed by a mere fodder assassin, yeah he defeated death after that, but it actually is no feat at all.

That was in the beginning of the game before he got Death's Scythe, the cross, and all those other powers.  
Yeah, the assassin stabbed him in the back which he couldn't forsee. Although, that was just a means to a end so that he could be sent to Hell in the game.

Dante might have a superior weapon, but that doesn't decide the fight to me. I'm going with Hellboy.

I would be willing to bet that Dante, a crusading knight, would have combat skills over Hellboy, a supernatural agent who brawls.

@progenitor: That's why I think Hellboy's powers would be the siding factor. I never said it would be an easy battle for him to win.
