Hank McCoy vs Susan Richards

Hank and Sue won their primaries and now face each other for the NY senate seat. Only differences in stances is:
-Hank supports a plan to give full fledged mutants rights, Susan does not (sort of like a plan letting illegals stay in America or not).
-Hank wins endorsements from the majority of Avengers, all the X-teams, Spider-Man and even Magneto.
-Susan wins endorsements from Avengers She-Hulk, Captain America, Tony Stark, Hank Pym and Ms. Marvel and the majority of heroes who aren't affiliated with teams.
-Hank destroys Susan in the debates.
-Susan has majority human support.

So wait what? Are they fighting or debating?  Either way Susan wins.  Susan has majority of humanity's votes while there are what 200 mutants now?
