Despite the impressive display of Hal's pimp hand I still have to give the win to Stewart his construct are better imo.

So Hal's a woman beater because he beat up the psychopath who had just recently killed one of his closest friends:Katma Tui (John's own freaking wife) and helped ruin his reputation and relationship with other heroes. Because its not like Carol was some defenseless woman, she was a psychopath with powers that rivaled Hal's own. And it's not like John attacked her himself........oh wait...HE DID. And then he had the gall to take his anger out on Hal.

I generally stay away from the battles sections, but from what I see people are deciding this one on a lot of things not really related to an actual battle.  If it were Hal versus John for Time's Man of the Year, John might win because he did all those things and didn't do the things Hal did.  However, if there was a Hal versus Sinestro, people wouldn't be concerned about what Sinestro had done wrong and would instead be talking about how cool he is.  I would say bottom line is that the Guardians always pick Hal for the most dangerous missions and while John is a really strong Lantern, it is hard to see him beating Hal one on one.

What i dont understand is why would think even be a debate.

As far as the solo series goes and thats where people get most of their feats from John never really got a solo series focusing on him entirely, the only time he was given a chance to sign was probably Cosmic Odessy where he ended up being the reason a planet gets destroyed and the only series he had solo as a green lantern was Mosiac which had 18 issue. He doesnt have as much appearance as Hal, neither does he have as much feats as Hal, even worst yet before Kyle Hal has always been stated to be the best GL in Green Lantern Corps. That was the whole point behind Emerald Twilight issue, the BEST green lantern turning against the corps.

Dc on their bio officially outright state Hal has better willpower than John Stewart.

So yeah as far as Dc is concerned Hal Jordan is better than John Stewart.
