The classic Hulk wasn't as strong as Grey Hulk in my opinion. And the Thing that he had problems with was mutated into a class 100 level character.

Namor beat cloassic Green Hulk even when the Hulks strength was beyond Class 100 (they had been fighting for some time and the Hulks anger had been growing). However the win I remember occured wjhen Namor and the Hulk were both under water sio Namor was at the peak of his strength, maneuverability and endurance. As for the Grey Hulks strength, he starts at a lower level of strength than the classic Green Hulk does.

But that classic Hulk didn't seem as strong as the Hulk now. I'm not sure he was class 100. Even Cap was able to defeat the classic Hulk.

Cap beating green Hulk is PIS. Marvel were clear when they said that Grey Hulk begins weaker than Green Hulk. Current Hulk is still the same as Classic era - both are savage, less mentally able etc.
@the creator: The Thing was shown to be more of a match for the Hulk back in the classic days (FF #24&25 and Hulk #122). Iron Man also defeated him once and I remember lame characters like Aries of the Zodiac giving him a blow that sent him flying miles away. If he was at the same level as the green Hulk today, his feats sure didn't reflect it.

Power levels have changed somewhat since very early comics (like the ones you mention). This is true of most characters as in todays comics. Writers and editors usually tryto keep things more consistent these days, but the characters are intended to be the same - classic green Hulk. We know that Grey Hulk has been effectively faught by Mr Hyde (rated around 70 tonnes) and was beaten up by the Spikey form Thing (who at the time was around Class 100 strength as his normal form was rated at 85 tonnes). Namor while wet is Class 100. He far quicker and more agile than the Hulk or the Thing, an excellent fighter, can fly (for some tactical benefit) and can drag the Hulk in to the water, not only for Namor to renew his strength but to also play to his strengths as he suffers no impeadment in the water to his movements but the grey Hulk will.
@randomsid: Marvel don't have a silver age. Their continuity goes from day 1.
Yeah, what I consider silver age. Their continuity does, but their power levels don't. Green Hulk has always been powerful, but he hasn't always been a world buster.
