Gregor is enraged because he is defending Boots. He has Sandwich's sword. Percy has his Riptide (it can harm Gregor) and a satchel with a water bottle in it. Percy is not trying to kill Gregor, but is willing to if left no other choice.
Gregor vs Percy Jackson
@etheral_dreams: It's been a long time since I've read the series, but I know he was at least on par with Ripred, who could fight 500-1. He also had a berserker rage ability which Ripred taught him and could fight in total darkness. I'd compare him to people like Odysseus and Beowulf, no magical powers but a badass force to be reckoned with.
Yeah I think Gregor should win, I haven't read either of these books in forever but I remember Gregor was capable of fighting massive armies solo and attacks coming from all directions at once, he should be way faster and more skilled than Percy.
@themagicstik: @themagicstik: Percy beat Ares GOD OF WAR when he was 12, is capable of causing multiple mini natural disasters, and has fought several Titans.
Percy stomps man.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: He didn't beat Ares, he stabbed him in the heel because Ares was toying with him

As if Ares was very impressive? Also they fought in the water, they're not in the water in this scenario.
@arcus: Doesn't matter. He at 12 held his own against the God of War.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: The featless God of War who was holding back and toying with him. It's impressive, but not as impressive as some people make it out to be, and far from his best feat
@themagicstik: He can summon a whirlwind from his own lifeforce. He doesn't need an ocean.
Beata
@arcus: Ares isn't featless: in the PJ universe, Ares is effectively the same God from the Greek mythos. If you want feats, open up a history book.
Percy has fought armies by himself too. In Son of Neptune he fought an army of undead undying soilders. And he's fought large groups of monsters on numerous occasions.
What book is Gregor from? It sounds interesting.
@arcus: Featless? You can't be serious. But whatever.
You are totally right, that is no where near his best feat. But it is still head and shoulders above all of Gregors
Beata
@cregan_stark: This is Gregor the Overlander from the book series of the same name. (it's by Suzanne Collins)
@spidey_jackson: He's only ever done that once, and it was when he almost died
@arcus: Your point?
He can call water from up to a mile away as well.
Beata
Also Percy can go toe to toe with Gigantes. Gregor couldn't even beat Bane without the help of Ares.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: What has Ares done in terms of close quarters combat?
I haven't read anything with Gregor, so I'm not debating who would win, just want to make sure Percy's being represented correctly
@spidey_jackson: Just pointing out that he hasn't shown the ability to just summon water whenever he wants
@arcus: Like MrUnsmiley said, he's practically the same God of War from the old greek myths. So you want feats? Do some studying. Also, he's a GOD who's been fighting for an eternity.
Ok..........
Yes he can.
Beata
He's from the Overlander Chronicles by Suzanne Collins. It's about a kid named Gregor finding an ancient passageway to an enormous cavern known as the Underland which is inhabited by giant, talking animals and pale skinned humans. The inhabitants of the Underland think he is the prophesied "child of the sun" that will save their land from a white rat known as Bane and begin his intense hero training.
@spidey_jackson: which version of Greek mythology?
In the Iliad, he's an idiot who goes home crying after he gets hurt
Also the Percy Jackson mythology is not meant to be exactly the same as Classic Greek myth. In the myths the twin Giants stacked mountains on top of each other, but in Mark of Athena we learn that was just special effects
Percy has fought armies by himself too. In Son of Neptune he fought an army of undead undying soilders. And he's fought large groups of monsters on numerous occasions.
What book is Gregor from? It sounds interesting.
Gregor the Overlander. It's basically about an 11 year old kid who find about this world underneath ours known as the "Underland" it's inhabitted by a race of pale humans and various superintelligent animals that greatly vary in size compared to their overland counterparts. Gregor is "The Warrior" of prophecy and basically he's there to kick ass and save Underland. Gregor is also what is known as a "rager" in the book, ragers can enter this state of hypersensitivity and basically become unstoppable killing machines.
Also Percy can go toe to toe with Gigantes. Gregor couldn't even beat Bane without the help of Ares.
Beata
I seriously doubt that Gigantes was/were as fast as Bane, Bane was massive, powerful, and extremely agile.
@arcus: In most versions he's a coward and a big baby, just like the book. But he participated in the Titanomachy, the gigantomacy and the Trojan War. And the series even implies he's fought in pretty much every major war in human history. So he has eons of experience. Oh and he's a GOD.
I'm aware of that. In some myths Otus and Ephy were children of Poseidon.
Beata
@themagicstik: Most Gigantes are 2x bigger than Bane, are immortal and were made for the sole reason of killing gods. So they have a variety of powers and skills. Jason even states that Enceladus, despite his size, was very fast.
Weakest Gigante> 2 Banes.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: I'm perfectly aware of that, doesn't mean he's an intelligent combatant.
If Ares was fighting to the best of his ability, he would have vaporized Percy. But he wasn't fighting intelligently
Further proof that Percy Jackson doesn't correlate with all versions of Greek Mythology
@arcus: Ares in most myths was hotheaded and arrogant. So don't sit here and lie. In the Tlt, he was just that, hotheaded and arrogant. So the PJO seroes seems to match up pretty good. And whether or not he was fighting full power or not is irrelevant. Percy was 12 with little to no training. And he held his own against Ares. Sure Ares was holding back, but he was still fighting pretty hard.
Beata
@etheral_dreams: Thank you!
Beata
@spidey_jackson: He only held his own because Ares let him. Percy has much more impressive feats, I'd focus more on them
@arcus: Either way, Gregor doesn't really have ones to match.
Beata
@spidey_jackson: I can't comment on that
@racob7: gotcha, in that case I have no opinion since in not familiar with that series
