Green Lanterns VS. Avengers

Green Lantern team will consist of these two :

Kilowog

Guy Gardner

They will face off against a select group of

Avengers :

Iron Man

Vision

Spider Woman

Thor

Quicksilver

Ms. Marvel

She Hulk

Antman

No BFR. Morals on, but a bit more flexible than usual. Remember, if the Avengers can hang in there until the rings run out of juice, the two Lanterns are in trouble. Fight!

Spite, C'mon man. Its not even two of the more powerful GL's. Only people who like to debate for the sake of debating would take the GL's.

Kilowog can take down Superman and Akrillo, but he gets overwhelmed here. Guy's sort of useless.

This isn't spite at all. Thor is the only Lantern-level threat on the Avengers team.

Which would be true if we were talking about Jordan and Rayner.

But Ms. Marvel, Thor, She-Hulk...Kilowog's fighting style is very slow and tanky, just like Thor's. But Thor is tankier.

Ms.Marvel still doesn't have the physicals as far as I'm aware of. She-Hulk is of course at an extreme disadvantage against any opponent who can fly. Kilowog and Guy are still great Lanterns. Kilowog has great physicals in his own right and Guy possibly has more willpower than any other GL. There is not a world of difference between them and Hal/Kyle/Stewart.

@_black: is world of feats, whit alot of feats we can have a better knowledge of what the "hero" can do, until some feats are show its just a potencial, but not a fact (i'm not saying you should show me the feat, i mean in the comics, until he does something equal or greater is just a potencial)

I'd say Avengers, not very aware of feats by Kilowog or Guy

Thor solos, vision solos, maybe Iron Man could take one with prep. There is outside chance Ms. Marvel could absorb energy from the rings, or otherwise limit their effectiveness. Quicksilver, Antman, She Hulk, and Spider Woman are useless in single combat, but together maybe they could defeat or at least distract a lantern. There is no way the lantern team could win this.

I really think most of you are seriously underestimating the Green Lanterns. Yeah, I'm a fan, but I am strictly unbiased when it comes to this sort of thing. A Green Lantern has the ability to :

- Protect themselves (or whatever else) at all times with a force field

- Create an infinite array of weapons of any type they can imagine

- Fly at the speed of light (faster, when using a trans-luminal conduit)

- Reproduce nearly any type of energy (including radiation)

- Scan life forms (& pretty much anything else) in order to isolate vulnerabilities & gather a variety of useful intel

- Use the ring's 'tractor beam' (for lack of a better term) as a form of telekinesis

- Lets not forget the somewhat over-used energy blast / laser beam thing that writer Jeoff Johns seems to be so fond of

- Emit electromagnetic pulse

- Transport back & forth between the matter & anti-matter parallel universes

- Temporarily accelerate the metabolism of the wearer in order to (relatively) rapidly heal from illness or injury

- Generation of mental "earplugs" to block out telepathic communication and manipulation

I could go on & on. Guy & Kilowog are both seasoned vets of the Green Lantern Corps. True, neither has as many feats as the headliner Lanterns, like Hal, Kyle, & John, but still, they both have plenty to demonstrate that they are badasses, especially if you flip thru a lot of the recent books - War of light, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, ect.

I love the Avengers, & I'm not saying they couldn't take these two Lanterns. Maybe they can, but it certainly wouldn't be a stomp. Remember, just because the Lanterns are outnumbered means little. A Green Lantern can create autonomous constructs of other people (Green Lanterns, other super heroes, villains, even shit they just made up) to fight for them.

Give it a second thought. No way this is spite.

Avengers. Couldn't Miss Marvel absorb Green Lanterns energy to become stronger?

So 2 seasoned Lanterns one being a Drill Lantern SGT who teaches his students the art of creating mini Black holes against the Avengers?

Kilowog imo can & will hold his own against Thor & Guy has the skill, imagination & smarts to keep the other Avengers busy buy taking this encounter where only Ms Marvel, Iron Man & Vision would be the only players.

This is far from being a spite, but the Avengers still wins IMHO. Thor can handle either lantern while the rest team up to take the other..

Superman is not in this fight and ABC logic never works. Superman recently beat Hal. Hal is above Kilowog. Thus, Superman should be above Kilowog, which apparently is not the case in above screen.

You would have to make two big concessions to not make this a ridiculous stomp. You would have to say that Vision could not phase through constructs and Ms. Marvel could not use energy absorption. Of course there is no evidence to support these assumptions. Still, Marvel wins in that case as I still believe that at least Thor solos.

@catofellow: I don't think that's fair to do. Sinestro used to be around Hal's ability, but now he seems way better than Hal. I think Hal and Hal alone was downgraded.

I think Thor and Kilowog would duke it out in a cool fight while Ms. Marvel, Vision and Iron Man would give Guy fits. Quicksilver and She-Hulk could team up with Thor and overwhelm him as soon as Thor gets him to ground. After that Thor joins the fight in the air the Avengers would destroy him.
