So the Goku vs Superman debate has been, if not the most, one of the most controversial debate that stepped unto the battles of fictional characters. So its time to bring some end to this debate.
Basically the DBZ verse and the DC verse are two different universe. While the DBZ which only need common sense and doesn't need the support of any scientific evidences and/or explanations the DC verse(Superman) does need it because DBZ was purely made out of entertainment while DC mostly was made out of entertainment+explanations. Other than that while DC, specifically Superman, has many other authors and versions while DBZ, specifically Goku, only has one sole author who is Akira Toriyama, meaning it would be unfair to both parties specially to the DBZ part to jump on power-ups on a single version to another version. Also if thats the case then Superman would only be able to use the very first version of Superman which is from the Superman Action Comics who can only jump high(not fly) and has speed almost similar only to a speeding bullet, now that won't really be a great match-up wouldn't it and Goku would literally crush Superman more horrible than an ant if that would be the case. Well this statement is in-line to the DBGT/DBZ Movies which shouldn't be included to the debate as what others have said.
Moving on, there are really many confusions to both parties since each one was from 2 different cultures, while DC(Superman) has many authors, DBZ on the other hand has only Akira Toriyama and Toriyama's words are the law on the DBZ Verse, if he say Uulong destroys the whole DBZ verse by sneezing then it is what it is. Like what the point on the earlier paragraph is don't debate putting the opposing party on your own favorable party's verse because that would only be biased. If the other party said so then it is said so but if the other party literally needs evidence every time then you should show evidence every time because thats the nature of your verse first and foremost. When debating fictional characters don't debate using the pre-requisite of your own verse for the opposing verse to do it also.
Various version of Superman has various abilities like super strength, moving planets, super flight, frost breath, sun-dipping etc
On the other hand the DBZ verse's power scaling would only require common-sense and some of it only requires the words of the author like Toriyama saying Cell is a Solar System Buster even when his ki is still not fully charged when Cell and Gohan were fighting, but Gohan was able to beat that Solar System Blast of cell, so what does that tell you? Gohan is a higher-tier than a Solar System Buster, Picollo who has more or less 5,000 power level destroyed the moon while Vegeta on the Radditz Saga destroyed a planet with an ease and Vegeta's power level around that time was more or less 20,000 only. Freeza's final form has a power level of 1,000,000 meaning Freeza can destroy a planet 50x more larger than the size of the planet that Vegeta had destroyed. Broly on the movie is a Galaxy Buster and on what is shown on the very first part of the movie where a whole Galaxy was blown in an instant, well its not a surprise since Broly destroyed a planet on a single uncharged blast with his hand, what Broly did there was just like snapping his finger than *Boom!* a planet has been destroyed.
So what does the upper statement has to do with Goku?
Ok so if you don't know Goku you should first watch DB->DBZ->DBGT, including all the movies.
1.Probably the most powerful attack of Goku is the Dragon Punch whom he used to defeat Omega Shenron whose durability is arguably on par with a Universal Buster. If you take the power scaling from the beginning SSJ4 Goku would arguably be a universal buster and Omega Shenron tanks attacks from SSJ4 Goku making Omega Shenron arguably has a toughness of a universal buster. Meaning SSJ4 Goku's Dragon Punch is >>> Universal Buster.
If you watched the DBGT Goku toyed with Cell and Freeza on his kid form without using SSJ, what does that tell you? Goku's kid form on DBGT is most likely a Galaxy Buster, speed-wise,power-wise.
2. The other attack even though is not used for literally destroying is the "Instant Transmission". If you wtched when Goku destroyed cell with a single kamehameha he didn't put his finger on his forhead he just instant transmitted then *Boom!* destroyed Cell. Also if you have watched the movie Bojack Unbound you would know that Goku instant transmitted from the SPIRIT WORLD to the world of the living while throwing a punch, meaning if Goku wanted to he can go back and forth from the Spirit World to the Living World throwing punches. Another one is if you have watched the movie Return of Cooler where Goku and Cooler were fighting using instant transmission making instant transmission as their sole movement, and just so you know the speed of instant transmission is "0" "zero", what does that tell you? Goku is faster than someone who is way more faster than a speed of light. Thats how fast Goku is, his speed is literally "0" "zero" he gost whenever or wherever he wants at the speed of "0" "zero". So the superstition that Goku needs to put his two fingers on his forehead to do the instant transmission is false. He most likely do it only for the viewers.
Those 2 skills mentioned above literally destroys fictional character along with their verse but other than that there is still one other, although this isn't really a skill. Knowing Broly who is entitled as the Legendary Saiyan he grows stronger and stronger as the fight goes on since a Sayain's power is limitless Broly can grow stronger than any fictional character AS LONG AS the fight continues and thats probably what made him the Legendary Saiyan, well Broly blocked a planet's explosion when was literally a baby, WTF?! Yeah thats right WTF!. A baby blocking a planet explosion, thats a hax lol.
Also if you watched GT when Baby took control of Gohan, Baby-Gohan closed a door it is like a psycich ability. Ask yourself is Baby a psycich? No. Is Gohan a psycich? No. But was Baby-Gohan able to do close the door without touching it? It means that power(power levels) are the only basis on the DBZ Verse, they can shape or reshape their ki and arguably let their ki do anything, and also Goku can attack minds although its only shown like once or twice on whole DB series. DBZ chars mostly focuses on powering up their blasts meaning making their Kamehameha and Galik Gun stronger only. Its sad they didn't also powered up their other aspects of power
Moving on, if you pay att0ention to the Freeza Saga you would know that when Goku is still being treated from the machine Vegeta,Gohan,Krillin,Piccolo, and Dende are the ones who faced Freeza first and on Freeza's third(?) form Piccolo was getting unmatched so Vegeta told Krillin the secret of a Saiyan that whenever a Sayian experienced a near death experience their power grows exponentially so Krillin hit Vegeta with a fatal blow then Dende healed him making Vegeta to be able to somehow fight Freeza on his third form which he wasn't even able to do before, but imagine if Vegeta have done that 10x? Vegeta would literally crush Freeza without an ease. Well that explains why Freeza is scared of the Saiyans since Saiyan's power is limitless so Freeza tried to wipe all the Saiyans on the DBZ Verse.
Point is, a Sayain's power is limitless, and Goku with proper prep defeats anyone. Goku with proper prep would just flick Superman away from DC to Marvel with ease. Knowing Shenron can give you youth and "agelessness". So can Goku also beat TOAA? With proper prep yes. Goku could train to make his force field block any attacks from anyone including TOAA. Before when Goku was still a child Goku's kamehameha can only destroy cars who would have thought that the little ol Goku would somebody be able to destroy Planet Busting Durabilities, Solar System Busting Duabilities, Galaxy Busting Durabilities, Universal Busting Durabilities?
Goku's power increases exponentially on a near death experience and he can do that near death experience billions of times over if he wanted to making his power increase billions or trillions or septillions of times exponentially.
Potentially Goku beats any fictional character.
To be honest Goku with proper prep beats all fictional characters combined.
