It's a lot more complicated than that.

Godzilla has in the past been shown to be able to absorb lightning and his size means that he could ignore most storm effects (could he be overloaded ? - not sure).

His hide is pretty tough and that breath weapon is pretty devastating. Oh and don't forget the tail slap.

Thor however has a greater ranger of powers. Not only could he block the breath weapon, he could perform his super energy strike and kill Godzilla like he did with the Midgard serpent.

Godzilla has no limit to how much electricity he can absorb and if this is meltdown godzilla who is 100x more powerful in evrey way than normal than thor doesn't stand a chance. Also Godzilla has faster regen than wolverine, and Don't forget the spiral ray which is 70x more powerful than the normal beam, Thors not gonna withstand that kind of power.

Thor's hammer Mjornir could absorb the energy breath weapon (it has proven capable of absorbing a lot more).

If Thor were to throw the hammer in to the throat of Godzilla, damaging his ability to breath and discharge breath weapons, then what would happen.

Thor could gain altitude, focus his godblast, decend and blow a massive hole through godzilla.

He used this discharge to kill the midgard Serpent so it should work quite nicely.

Mechagodzilla was designed to absorb Godzilla's breath weapon he couldn't absorb the spiral ray it simply was too much. And Godzilla's breath does not originate from his lungs it originates from a special organ. And the hole would heal very rapidly as Godzilla has been shown to heal from being cut in half instantly, he healed from having a hole drilled into him by megalon, he healed from Gigan's belly buzzsaw which did heavy damage to Godzilla's exterior. And Meltdown Godzilla can still overwhelm thor.

Mechagodzilla isn't a god though. Thor beats down Godzilla. As I said in the other thread. He slams his hammer right through Godzilla's head killing him.

Sunrider never did say what incarnation of Godzilla this is. If it's final wars version thor doesn't have a chance, Tokyo SOS then Thor wins because that goji is just plain dumb, GMK goji thor again because of goji incarnation's dumbness or regen, GXM Goji because well he's just overpowered, G2K wins against thor because of heal from anything isntantly regen and cheapness, if it's Meltdown Goji thor get's owned real fast, Hesei two thor because of this Goji's lack of wanting to do melee combat, Hesei 1 thor wins because this goji isn't that smart, Showa umm he just gains a power that allows him to win, Original Godzilla he dies because this one is a lumbering brute who just stood there when the Oxygen destroyer was used on him due to being a dumbass.

Thor beat Jormungandr the "Daddy" of all "Dragons". I think he could beat Godzilla. Godzilla just wouldn't survive repeated blows from mjolnir. I mean Thor has made a living beating Giants, Dragons, etc. Godzilla would just be another notch on the belt.

During the What if..? issue of Atlantis Attacks (V.3 #25), Set swallowed Thor's hammer and Thor was able to summon it through on of the serpent-god's heads, killing that head. He could do the same to Godzilla.

Thor grew up beating on giants and dragons, I don't see how a radioactive dinosaur would beat him, being a God an all.

And how about the fact that Godzilla can't hurt Thor? He's almost completely immune to pain, and he can't die. Godzilla can die, all Thor has to do is outlive him.

Actually Thor can die.

Unlike Hercules or the Olympian gods, the Norse gods are only incredibly long lived and don't regenerate as quick. Thor was destined to die in combat with the Midgard Serpent but Hela's curse on him at the time meant that he could not die when he faced the Midgard Serpent. Thor is not immune to pain. He feels it but obviously has a much higher threshold than a human, but as a warrior, he shrugs it off and keeps coming.

The question remains however, would Godzilla regeration power worked if Thor's godblast blasted his head off and drilled a massive hole in to his body, sepecially if Thor then followed up with lightning at that point (as he did in his battle with Fafnir) to incinerate the body ??

Would Godzilla's body still absorb lightning if he was clinically 'dead'.

Probably an irrelevant question as Godzilla was down for only a minute while he regenerated, he is still 'dead' but Thyor could then open up a portal to another dimension and drop the carcus through and voila, we have a winner.

Man the Godzilla that fought Thor and mashed him out was smaller and weaker than any of the Godzillas that Toho created. SO yeah thor gets owned pretty fast.

The Godzillas have shown to be much more powerful, easily using the strength of a nuke to blast opponents,breaking out of sub zero temperatures, and more.
