Anyone care to provide showings of Ultraman where he's not a complete joke? Both Martian Manhunter and Superman have easily stomped his face in.

Getting your behind whooped by those two isn't really as bad a showing as getting tanked by the likes of Cannonball...

Actually compared to Gladiator it would be, seeing as Gladiator is in Superman's league.

Gladiator did not lose to Cannonball. He was completely fine after Cannonball gave it his best. Even Cannonball said he knew he could not win.

If you want to convince people that you are a Superman-level opponent, getting absolutely humiliated by two legit Superman-level opponents is not the way to go about it.

When you have no impressive showings it doesn't put you above gladiator...Rather then low ball why don't you bring up some feats for ultraman?

What has ultraman done thats so impressive.

I know that fight was PIS, I originally mentioned it only as a joke. Like I said before I don't think Glads would go down easily, but I don't see him winning. He's a beast in his own right though.

Gladiator never used his speed advantage, and it's not that bad. Hulk has Superman/Thor level strength, and can surpass them.

I thought about bringing up both of those, but skipped it. That pic of Superman tanking Ultraman was from the Trinity arc IIRC and he had Diana's and Batman's personalities. That's a feat Glads could and would have to replicate in order to win this battle, the Martian feat, once again isn't a low showing in my opinion as MM is badass and is something Glads couldn't replicate.

He had their personalities but it did not increase his strength or speed or durability in any way. That was all him. At best he was out of character at the time.

@Ancient_0f_Days: That first scan where Superman pulls the Earth solo is a re-telling of a pre-Crisis story where the JLA fought Starbreaker, and thus probably not to be considered canon.

His train of thought was different which is clear as he was explaining what he was doing differently, that being said he was only utilizing his own powers, but it could also be argued that UM didn't even fight back and can be viewed as PIC/CIS seeing as they'ew within the same strength/speed/durability level, yet he was mauled as if he were a street leveler.

Is anyone going to post some ultraman feats or are we just going to low ball gladiator? I really am not seeing anything here to suggest ultraman is as powerful as him.....I mean yea sure gladiator isn't as powerful as superman but from what I'm seeing he doesn't have to be.

I was saying that Hulk has nothing that puts him on Superman's level, look at the mahgeddun feat ..... Superman pulled the weight of a solar system ..... so that is baby weight right there

not to mention .... that is the strongest incarnation of Hulk ..... this is regular Superman ..... not PC .... not AS .... not Prime ... not 1 million ... and not prime 1 million ........ just Superman ..... regular Hulk can't even bench a mountain .... pshhhhh .... get that outa here

How so? Both pics posted of UM losing was to either Superman himself or MM who many consider above Superman...

I'm slightly confused by this. Did he destroy a planet or simply survive it's destruction? If it's the former what was the circumstances surrounding it and if the latter I feel the need to mention Superman did survive the collision of two planets IIRC.

Either can be true depending on the planet. Such things as size, stability, etc need to be taken into consideration when doing so. I mean a dying planet is one that's more than likely already falling apart and clearly isn't doing to have the density or stability of a healthier one. I've never been one to dispute Hulk's strength, it's just his title "The Strongest There Is" may only hold true to those within his respective company...

@Evil Incarnate: Because all he did was get stomped...Anyone can get stomped by superman or martian manhunter its not hard. He didn't even give them a tough fight. What feats does he have that put him on gladiators strength or reaction level?

As for the hulk feat hulk destroyed the planet. In heart of the monster it is revealed that the hulk was holding back in the other 2 times before he went world breaker because he didn't kill innocents so since they were on a planet with no innocents the hulk cut loose and destroyed it when him and red she hulk punched each other (it was stated they were both equals in strength). This was world breaker hulk. There is a panel missing in the scans posted.

I'm at a loss with Supes, I don't truly hate him as I just hate the fact that the writers never let you forget that he's better than everyone else. It's like no one can shine while he's around. How many times have you seen a battle with the JLA and they'll have WW, MM, GL etc there and yet can't manage to defeat the villain, but then Supes arrives and handles it himself? It's irritating as a WW fan, not to mention that he gets a new power every other week. I still remember how that whole arc with Super Girl being stronger than him was just a way to make him stronger by concluding that she only appeared stronger, faster, etc cause he holds back. That was a big F--K YOU!

It requires more strength to pull a planet than break one. World Breaker Hulk's example is a little different though since he wasn't even punching the planet.

It requires more strength to pull a planet than break one. World Breaker Hulk's example is a little different though since he wasn't even punching the planet.

Which makes it a whole lot a better.

There are no real materials that require more force to break than the force required to pull a planet with any significant acceleration. Only breaking special comic book materials such as vibranium or Prometheus might be more impressive.
