Who wins?

Impossible to tell. Due to the nature of Giygas attacks the play literally is unable to comprehend them so.....

Hey hey! That's called plot and it's the most powerful weapon in existence.

Not saying that they aren't, just saying that personally I can't really tell who wins.

Pfff, no amount of praying saves you from Galactus. I'm just saying...

Id give it to Galactus becouse Giygas, besides being a Universe Destroyer, havent done that much feats to show the proof of his power.

Like Galactus prays. :/

Maybe not but that's because he's a position where people should pray to appease him.

I still say Giygas stands a chance, the nature of Earthbound leads me to believe that his powers are mental in nature and thus might actually work against Galactus.

Oh, and just to say, Giygas only was defeated becouse Ness went back in time to fight him in a weaker state.

There's a fallacy in this. All we saw of Gygas was from the perspective of something far weaker then Galactus. And in this regard he doesn't have to be anywhere near Galactus to be the threat he was in the game. And none of Gygas's feats even equal Herald level power. Let alone Abstract

Proves nothing far weaker beings then  Galactus have time travel powers and that doesn't mean someone as weak as Ness wouldn't need to travel in time to beat him in  a weaker state. Hell anything herald level is far above Ness's capabilities anyway.

Bah, you're no fun. I get that Galactus wins, but it's nice to pretend it's not a curbstomp. In all honestly it's near impossible to tell just how strong Giygas is or if there's a non-plot way to beat him.

That is true thought since Gygas has never fought anything stronger then low level psychics.

we have nothing to prove he is even close to that.

Due to the meteorite impact, Buzzbuzz may be an alien. Why would an alien go back int time to rescue the Earth? Unless his planet too was under threat.
Right there, Giygas is said to be a Universe destroyer for the first time (and not the last)
Giygas is going to destroy everything.
The plan to destroy the Universe comes from some where on Earth.
Ness power growth.
Ness's powers are expanded upon, and Giygas is not only once again refered to being universal in power level, but also growing frightened of Ness.
Ness is the Chosen One.
The fate of Ness isn't just his or even the Earths, but of the whole Universe.
The power around the spot turned a normal ant into a monster. The power surrounding just one of the power spots was able to that. Ness has power from all the power spots, yet he hasn't lost his mind.
Ness Nightmare states it cannot be defeated, as it is a part of Ness himself. Ness faces his evil side as only a powerful and purely belovant being can defeat Giygas.
After defeating Ness Nightmare, Ness increases dramaticaly in power. All of this takes place in another dimension, which Ness visits telepathically.
Giygas is capable of attacking through time and dimensions.
Ness is not the only chosen one (not just of Earth, but of the whole Universe).
No living things are shown coming up to Giygas. To survive the journey, Ness and his friends must transfer their brains and spirits to robots. All the enemies met beforehand are robots, ghosts or Starmen. Pokey Minch is the only living thing seen, and even then he is encased inside his spider robot. No living thing can survive in Giygas's presence. This is before he destroys the Universe in the future.
Giygas is now evil incarnate.
Giygas's power is so great that it destroyed his very mind.
All-mighty idiot is similar to Azathoth, the Blind Idiot God.
Ness and his friends are the only force left capable of standing up to Giygas. Even though they are the chosen ones of the Universe, they are left helpless against Giygas and the only option left is for the combined the prayer of the Eight Melodies, even the fourth wall must be broken to defeat Giygas.
Pokey Minch states the Universe will be destroyed.
The mere influence of Giygas's evil is enough to make animals, people turn evil and even inanimate objects come to life and attack you. This is not just a gameplay mechanic, but is described to be part of Giygas's plan. The heroes are also capable of defeating a fog made of diamonds, the strongest substance known to exist.

Giygas from Mother 2, steps to Galactus.

@thedarklordpandamonium Due to the lacking information which has the confrontation, presumably, it is either a hungry or moderately powered Galactus. Now, yes it was a hypothetical fully powered Galactus, the confrontation would change and would be more fair. Similarly, it is assumed, that it's Mother 2 Giygas.

In Mother 2 Giygas, was considered a universal cosmic destroyer, similarly, fully powered Galactus is considered a threat universal.

It would be a good showdown, however, based on deeds, Galactus has a repertoire and has a history much more fresh and varied than the own Giygas.

Reading the facts, Giygas would rape Galactus. Nothing living could face Giygas, Marvel Zombies shows Galactus is flesh...
