Normal Morals
No BFR
No speedblitzing (especially for gandalf)
Gandalf the white!
Normal kit ( Gandalf gets shadowfax)
No prep time
Battle takes place in Middle Earth
Gandalf starts in Arnor
Superman starts at Mordor

If gandalf can unlock his true potential as a maiar he will slaughter superman with ease. But if he can't then superman stomps him with ease.
superman wins here, Gandalf is a great swordsman, but his magic isn't anything superman hasn't faced
Superman is far too fast for Gandalf to even react to, let alone even strike. One hit from Clark and he's down for the count.

...can you give me 1 example of gandlaf speedblitzing?
He probably means superman is not allowed to blitz gandalf?
I hope so..that would make a lot more sense..cuz ive never heard of gandalf blitzing

Well....he did blitz the hobbits early on the movie with his staff and pulled their ears before they could even react.

From the view point of the hobbits it was a speed blitz.
@Deranged Midget: What if Gandalf disguised himself as a tree, and attacked clark with a hobbit army?
@joeagentofhand1: what about ressurection?
Superman's senses will allow him to detect Gandalf from their starting locations. From there its a simple matter of flying into the air enough to avoid the curve of the planet, and using his heat vision.
Pretty short fight.
@Lady_Liberty: Not if Gandalf transmutates himself. Also who is to say death is the end for Gandalf??
Gandalf sends Frodo on a quest to destroy Superman's first appearance in a comicbook, tossing it into the paper shredder in DC's offices and saving Middle Earth.
@The_Thunderer: I can't tell if you're serious or merely trolling. What would a Hobbit army do? They can't hurt him, let alone touch him.@Trinity00 said:

No it wasn't. Gandalf had the element of surprise and snuck up on them, they weren't even engaged in battle.

No it just seems that way to you in reality he blitzed the hobbits since they were looking at him when he found them.
@The_Thunderer: He doesn't have to die for Clark to win the battle. Transmuting himself really won't help him much, I doubt he can come up with anything Superman hasn't dealt with before.

Isn't it when your looking at your opponent and get attack rapidly before you can react to him/her?
@Lady_Liberty: What about if he transmutates into a tree, and then waits for superman to die of boredom...
@Deranged Midget: Superman's morals means he wouldn't hurt the hobbits, they are far too cute, i mean look at them:

More or less, but in what way does that compare to two Hobbits entirely unaware (and facing in a different direction) of Gandalf and especially that they weren't engaging anyone in battle?
@Deranged Midget: Gandalf blitzed them so fast that time was turned back, and it made it look like they hadn't moved.

Superman picks him off with his heat vision from a mile away
Planned on saying something very similar to this
Not necessarily in his morals to aggressively attack his opponents with heat vision.
@The_Thunderer: Superman will spot him in less then a hundredth of a second, before the synapses in Gandalf's brain can even finish the thought. He will know exactly which tree.
@The_Thunderer: -.- Merry and Pippin were fooling around with the fireworks at Bilbo's birthday party. They were completely unaware of anything around them and were their attention was solely set on the fireworks they had set off. Gandalf, cuing in that someone was using his fireworks, heads to his carriage only to find Merry and Pippin fooling around and grabs them both by the ear.
@Lady_Liberty: How?! Prove that he can recognise transmutated objects and i'll believe you.
@Deranged Midget: All i'm saying is have you seen him run?
@The_Thunderer: Gandalf? Yes. He's only full on sprinted once in the films and it was during the final fight in Return of the King. He was out-paced by everyone except the Hobbits in seconds. Not exactly impressive.
@Deranged Midget: that, haha he was jogging, he realised how foolish it would be to be in the front line and so made a tactical decision. Would you like to know why he didn't go with aragon and legolas on their hunt for merry and pippin in number 2? You will say its cos he was dead, but in fact he had already been ressurected by then in moria. He realised that the Ents would need his help and so sprinted to fangorn and made it there in minutes. Hence the light when the others first see him, he had just exited hyperspace.
@The_Thunderer: By watching Gandolf transmute with his own two eyes?
It goes like this.
.0000000000001 seconds into the battle Clark spots Gandolf.
.05 seconds into the battle Gandolf starts to transmute. Bored to death by the no speed blitz rule, Clark stops day dreaming about saving Lois from Lex, and watches this happen in amazingly high definition slow motion. Its like the matrix, on -10x speed here.
.1 seconds into the battle Superman flies across middle earth.
1 Being an all around nice guy, instead of burning the Gandolf tree with his heat vision he freeze breaths it into a glacier.
2 seconds. Bored to tears he finishes writing his next article for the daily planet in his head.
@Lady_Liberty: wrong, superman is distracted by every single person in middle earth who requests his help (normal morals) and then Gandalf has already f*cked off back to the undying lands by then..
Gandalf. Superman is weak against magic. Gandalf can do some crazy stuff. He has mind control to a certain degree, he is nearly omnipotent, and is somewhat invincible. In his VERY less powerful form (grey) he killed a huge fire demon. He didn't even have his staff. Gandalf probably would take this 7/10

No... just no. Superman is vulnerable to magic but only if it hits him. Gandalf is FAR too slow to even see Superman, let alone hit him. Gandalf has no mind control, he is no where near omni-potent, he can be killed the same as any other mortal hence he is not invincible, and while taking on the Balrog was impressive, Superman could've destroyed it with a blast of heat vision.
Superman wins with utter ease.
