No, they weren't. The base was under attack by the Phalanx, which was supposedly driven off by Ko-Rel. They were unaware intruders had remained inside. Gamora may be superior to Colossus; I honestly do not care about the outcome. But that was a feat even Moon Knight would have no trouble replicating. Still doesn't mean it makes him capable of taking out Colossus.
