Gambit Vs Punisher

Gambit buries Punisher in the rubble that was the parking garage.

The scenario does give Gambit a large advantage.  His explosive cards will set off chain reactions among the cars.

C'mon.  This is a joke, right ?  We're talkin' about a superhuman versus-ing a normal human here.  The answer is obvious:  Gambit for the KO !

1) Gambit can charge anything, his power gives him a big edge against people that aren't immune to physical damage. 
2) The environment I provided has a lot of cover....With his stealth, he may be able to engage him in a close combat.  Also, he has a good amount of weapons anyway.  But to say he "cant do nothing" is dead wrong. "

I'd like to give this match some new life...I won't make a duplicate, but instead try my best to balance the match up: 
 
 
SCENARIO: Gambit is visiting the big easy to take some time away from the X-Men and clear his head.  Unfortunately for him, the Punisher went there as well to clean up recent gang violence.  Both of them received word of a mass killing...They show up and spot each other a block away, instantly assuming the other is the killer.   
  
Location: 4 blocks of New Orleans, unpopulated.  Everything is on limits.  Assume there are several pistols scattered across the ground due to gang killings.  Match begins at 7pm.

Rules: 
-Like stated, everything is on limit. -Both are in character, but looking to eliminate the other. -Punisher has a kevlar vest, m16 with 6 clips, 5 grenades, several knives, 2 pistols with 3 clips each, and nightvision goggles. -Gambit has 3 decks of cards and an adamantium bo-staff. -Elimination is by KO, incapacitation or death.    "

Mmm, I'm gonna say Gambit.

Anyone wanna debate this?

Love Gambit. Hes one of my favorite X-Men. But Frank fuccs him up in a mid- close range battle.

I like the Punisher and all, but people don't give Remmy the credit he deserves.

The OP I'm going with Gambit. Not because he's going to blow the building up but because one pistol isn't enough to get a good shot in among the explosions.

In k4tzm4n scenario I say Punisher. He is loaded and has plenty of room to unload. Unlike most with guns, Frank will aim. Unless Gambit is bulletproof he dies.

This fight, realistically, would not last long. I don't think Gambit has anywhere near the combat training Frank does. With a splash of realism, Remy should eat a bullet to the head before he knew what hit him ...

If Frank makes this a power battle, or a face to face struggle, he loses terribly. If Gambit sees him coming, he can and will dodge 100% of all incoming and light Frank up like Christmas.

I edited the OP to what K4tz put down, so thats now the official scenario and a much better one. Probably should have done it 2 years ago though :p

@Super_SoldierXII: While I agree Remy has less training than Frank (extremely skilled with savate and stick fighting, then training w/ the X-Men), Gambit's mutant abilities prove he's more than capable of hanging with gunfire. This is just in regards to Remy eating a bullet to the head ;)

Force these two to go hand-to-hand and I'd put my cash on Frank in a good fight... but with both using their own weaponry and powers? Gambit's superhuman reflexes, agility, and sheer explosive offensive capabilities just make this unfair for Mr. Castle, imho. Frank is going to need to be heavily armed to compensate and have a lot of cover.

I always find it funny when people cite that example, while forgetting Spider-Man has evaded a Punisher who was flat out trying to kill him on a couple of other instances.

Mercy bullets > explosions.
