I think more details are needed here to actually debate it either way...

Gambit has his staff and cards and everything, he's fresh and not tired.

Same with Mandarin.

Battle takes place in NYC.

@ordinaryalan I think it would be a good fight.

Mandarin in a massive stomp if he has his rings.

Even wins without them, with slight difficulty.

@shenkuei: Did he had his rings when he fought Iron man in IM 3?

I think Gambit is a pretty powerful mutant. Look at him fighting with Wolverine in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game.

Yeah, with all of his rings Mandarin neutralizes any range advantage Gambit had with his cards. Agility wise Gambit may be a tad above Mandarin, but I think the villains h2h skill can make up for it. Maybe Gambit can get a lucky body charge explosion win here and there, but I don't see him winning a majority

Mandarin wasn't even really in Iron Man 3 he was a fake.

I assumed we were talking about comic book versions where Mandarin has superhuman strength and durability. And his rings can do all kinds of crazy stuff like disintegrate matter, manipulate molecules etc.

@ascended: Mandarin with his 10 rings would obliterate Gambit. The fight would be over in less than 3 seconds.

Mandarin holds Gambit in place with his "Mento-Intensifier" Ring and then uses his "Disintegration Beam" Ring to, well, disintegrate him.

Again, this is spite.

Well, I'm glad that that mandarin didn't exist in the iron man movie, otherwise he would easily one shot iron man.
