@jacthripper: I'm curious, considering you have over 900 posts so you're obviously not new to the Vine, did you honestly see a single person voting for Joker here?
@rick_grayson: I was trying to find a good match for Gambit, and He was too good for Green Arrow apparently, not good enough for Black Canary due to her powers, and breaks even with batman taking a slight majority, so i posted Gambit vs a guy who gives Batman hell all the time and has been able to kill him. Would it be fair if gave Joker 1 day of prep?

Slight you say?
@jokergeist: Unfortunately, it is
:(
@jacthripper: 1 day of prep for Joker certainly evens things up, probably giving Joker the win, but yeah if you're looking for someone to give him a good match in a random encounter I'd stay away from people with Gambits stats. I wonder if Nightwing would maybe be a good match.
But you're opening a can of worms with Joker, a lot of people think that because he's unpredictable he can beat people clearly better than him. Hell, throw him against Batman in a random encounter, see how many people vote Joker.
@rick_grayson: Yeah, I know, but in a random encounter, Batman destroys Joker. Thats why bats can take him in. If Joker was at Batmans level of H2H he would have never been taken to Arkham.
@jacthripper: I totally agree and think the fact that Joker is unpredictable is ridiculously over rated. Just giving you a heads up that unless it's a complete stomp you will have huge differences of opinions in Joker related threads.
@rick_grayson: Thanks for the input, who do you think wins? Still Gambit, or Joker
@jacthripper: with 1 day prep I'd probably say Joker now to be honest
@rick_grayson: With 1 day prep on someone he has never met before? Its still pretty much a random encounter and Gambit will still win

It's not like there's anything confidential about Gambit. It's not like he has a secret identity and besides, 1 day is plenty of time to learn about his powers and how to prepare a trap for him
Gambit wins 9/10 based on the OP. Joker's one day of prep isn't enough if he doesn't know who he is prepping for. That, and he has been limited to 2 pistols, acid flower, a knife, and a couple of grenades? I would have had him packing a bit more with a day's worth of prep.

Joker rarely fights head on. He plans. He screws with you mind to break it if you're worth it, otherwise, he traps you then kill you
@omnicrono: he can pack what he wants, he originally had no prep ill edit it
@gabranth: not really theres really not much on Gambit unless he's hacking the MI6 network or the CIA or something because they are the only real ones with substantial info on him. Also when it comes to avoiding Traps there is no one better than Gambit because he's a thief he does it for a living. This 1 day of prep does nothing for Joker Gambit will still win 10/10

Batman is a master escapist and yet:
Or his specialty:
With morals on maybe Joker can trick him by starting to handshake him before the fight begins
Just an reminder, The Joker also has Deadly cards which was enough to pierce through an humans skin with ease but it is not close to Gambit's cards.
Okay... with the edited OP (Joker can now pack whatever he wants), I think I might have to say it's too close to call, even though in general I greatly try to avoid that verdict.
Some of Joker's trick weapons (exploding toys, venom gas, etc) will throw Remy for a loop. Even though Gambit has mutant powers, none of them afford him such speed and accuracy that Joker wouldn't be able to avoid a good deal of punishment while also dishing out a lot. And Joker frequently uses exploding toys himself, so Gambit's exploding cards probably are not going to throw Joker off his game as much as some Gambit enthusiasts (myself included) might be thinking.
Oh, and morals are on, which means there is a good chance Gambit will hold back at first so as to avoid killing (or to simply test the waters). Not so much with Joker.
I can see this battle going either way... with maybe a teeeeny tiny edge in Remy's favor.
Remy.
