It's Dr. Manhattan

#3 Posted by Rich711 (259 posts) - - Show Bio

Not much to say, Dr. Manhattan. Galactus gets slapped down by a rubber man, invisible girl, rock man (no bigger than his thumb) and a flying fire cracker. Dr. Manhattan rewrites the rules of time and space.

Galactus. All day, every day. They really aren't even comparable. Dr Manhattan is basically featless, and even if you go by what is said he can do, Galactus can do it also on a massively larger scale.

I think Dr Manhattan... He can turn Galactus into a stuffed teddy bear or a pink dildo or a pile of lettuce in half a second. AND he's practically unkillable.

Galactus without trying.

Galactus. Manhattan has no feats to compare with The World-Eater.

Galactus should win here... Yeah, Big G has some low end feats but he has been around for decades... he also has some very high end feats. Manhattan has nothing even close to some of the high end feats Galactus has done.

No. He can't. He doesn't even breathe. ;P

@dondave: Galactus, I know what you mean

#20 Posted by Rich711 (259 posts) - - Show Bio

Then why does Galactus keep getting his ass kicked again and again and again by character with a tenth of the power as Dr. Manhattan? He has to be the dumbest villain ever to be able to eat entire planets yet keep getting punked by puny superheros, Fantastic Four, Thor, Hulk, Dr. Strange, The Beyonder. Dr. Manhattan has mastered science, the only thing Galactus has mastered is eating and falling down for much smaller opponents. He is the King Kong Bundy of the Marvel Universe. Dr. Manhattan could easily beat him and then rest his glowing blue balls on Galactus' forehead. Only Marvel fan boys that get ass sore at the idea of a non-marvel character beating their biggest jobber would think otherwise.

#21 Posted by 18hunt (2948 posts) - - Show Bio

@rich711: you know nothing, the beyonder would eat Dr. manhattan for breakfast

#22 Posted by dondave (38819 posts) - - Show Bio

Galactus gains a new herald...

#26 Edited by Rich711 (259 posts) - - Show Bio

@18hunt: How do you eat something that is intangible and can teleport instantly across the universe. For that matter how do you defeat something that is intangible and can not be injured. So what is Galactus going to do? He can't punch him, he cant hit him, ...he obviously cant outsmart him, we are talking about a character that can eat planets but like a retard reduces himself in size so spiderman can punch him in the face. Seriously, Galactus is embarrassing.

Do you guys even know who Dr. Manhattan is or did you only watch that douchie movie and now you hate him because seeing his wang made you have gay blue thoughts?

Fact: Manhattan doesnt need to eat.... Eating is all Galactus does, that shows mortality. If he needs to eat his life is dependent on other biological systems. Dr. Manhattan can instantly crystallize a fortress on the moon using only the power of his mind.... he could create a blood clot, in one of Galactus' biological systems instantly. He can disintegrate his brain or turn one of his organs to lime jello just by thinking about it. Galactus falls down....yet again, like he does time and time again.... game over. He doesnt even need to fight him he can teleport him to the end of the universe and leave him.

Dr. Manhattan is the equivalent of a god, Galactus loses to every god he squares off against. ...and non-gods like Dr. Strange and the Fantastic Four. Heck, Galactus cant even beat his own bitches, Silver Surfer totally punked him. Galactus is the pimp that can't control his hoes, which makes him no pimp at all. While Dr. Manhattan walks around with his dick out saving the world. Nuff said.

Courtesy of Comicvines Dr. Manhattan page.

While the true extent and nature of Manhattan's power is not known, here is a list of some of the powers, abilities, and traits that he has exhibited:

  • Size Alteration

  • Enhanced Strength

  • Teleportation of himself or other individuals over incredible distances

  • Matter Manipulation/Atomic Structure Control – limits unknown. Has been shown to be able to do things like: create crystalline structures on Mars, create a small amount of water, melt a portion of a tank. It was also stated he possibly could have turned a gun to steam, bullets to mercury, and a bottle to snowflakes by an angry Blake, though he is never actually shown doing these things.

  • Can create copies of himself which act independently of each other, but operate in an intelligent collective fashion.

  • Intangibility

  • Atemporal (in terms of his perception of time).

  • Does not appear to age.

  • Does not seem to require food, water, or air.

  • Creation of Environmental Fields – as seen when he creates a field around Laurie, allowing her to survive on Mars.

  • Can read atoms and sense tachyons

  • Telekinesis

  • Able to restructure himself after the removal of his intrinsic field.

  • Disintegration/Intrinsic Field removal – It is unclear whether he is disintegrating his targets or removing their intrinsic field. It should be noted that he does seem to need to aim his hand at the intended target.

@rich711: Galactus is made up of pure energy, he doesn't have organs? Read up on Galactus before you make stupid comments

#28 Posted by 18hunt (2948 posts) - - Show Bio

@rich711: Spiderman was amped, as there is no way a normal Spiderman could dream of hurting galactus

You are being arrogant here, you obviously don't know how powerful galactus is. He doesn't have to eat manhattan, he simply destroys him, as in a battle with his son he destroyed several galaxies

@dondave: He is pure energy?! Than if he IS energy why does he need to consume energy? No, really, explain that to me, Steven Hawking.

Does THIS look like pure energy to you? How does pure energy turn to a cobweb covered corpse? Try again, fan-boy.

@rich711: I don't know why I waisted my time to post here this is a ridiculous battle, galactus can make a herald as powerful as manhattan. As a matter of fact surfer has better feats than manhattan. None of his powers would work on big g.

Also marvel zombies galactus is not 616 galactus, they are different universes

either Galactus gains a new herald or has a light snack, In all honesty, anyone who argues otherwise is incredibly stupi.....excuse my language.

Dr Manhattan doesn't even have feats to hold a candle to The Silver Surfer, let alone Galactus.

I'd like to say Galactus for the effortless win but in all fairness we don't know how powerful Dr. Manhattan actually is. He was like a god on a planet (Ozymandias) where his closest competition would have trouble with Captain America. Is he a massive cosmic entity? Is he Superman/ Herald of Galactus level? What level are his various powers at? Based on his lack of showings we have to give the win to Galactus.

@moonman78: The difference here is that the Surfer is a superhero who appeared in dozens of comics over the years and was given the chance to achieve those feats. Manhattan only appeared in Watchmen, where he DID do quite remarkable things (regenerating himself completely in a matter of seconds after being completely vaporized into a pile of atoms is a good example for that) but was never given the chance to show the peak of his abilities.

In terms of sheer ability, Dr. Manhattan is a peerless character. He controls atoms FFS...

I like how when someone makes an argument that you can't trump all the babies cry "troll". It's like when the mental midgets in politics need to call someone a Nazi because they can't face the truth of what they are sing.

Comparing Silver Surfer to Dr. Manhattan proves you never read the Watchmen or forgot it. Silver Surfer cant change his size, cant teleport, cant control atomic structure with his mind, cant make himself intangible.

Galactus falls or retreats... like he always does.

#45 Edited by SheenLantern (6860 posts) - - Show Bio

@the_red_viper: Dr. Manhattan has never done anything like that, all of his feats could have been effortlessly recreated by Silver Surfer, except HE could have stopped all the nukes while the Doc couldn't.

Galactus curbstomps.

Err..You don't know anything about the Silver Sufer, do you? He has absolute control over all forms of matter and energy, he could snap his fingers and everything that composes Manhattan would dissapear. And yes, he can control atoms and become intanglible.

#46 Posted by SheenLantern (6860 posts) - - Show Bio

So? You say that as if it's some amazing ability, Silver Surfer controls atoms, Captain Atom controls atoms. Firestorm, Jean Grey and even Magneto can control atoms, who gives a f***?

#47 Edited by Rich711 (259 posts) - - Show Bio

@moonman78: When you say ("waisted" your time) do you mean you mean an activity of checking your time so see if it is long-waisted or high-waisted? Or do you mean your time is shaped like a waist and has concave sides, like a waisted vase?

You don't know what atoms are do you?

Doc Manhattan's abilities have no limit that we know of. And he COULD stop all the nukes, there just weren't any nukes for him to stop.

#49 Posted by SheenLantern (6860 posts) - - Show Bio

@the_red_viper:

"You don't know what atoms are do you?"

Elaborate, everything I said in my post was fact.

"Doc Manhattan's abilities have no limit that we know of. And he COULD stop all the nukes, there just weren't any nukes for him to stop."

Watchmen #4 Page 33

Irrefutable canon stating Manhattan couldn't stop something Silver Surfer could have effortlessly averted, a clear limit on Manhattan's power and an obvious sign of Surfer's superiority.

#50 Posted by The_Red_Viper (4167 posts) - - Show Bio

@sheenlantern: Doc could have created enough duplicates of himself to encounter each missile individually, which would have made it a child's play for him to stop all the nukes. As long as the Doc himself didn't state otherwise, I'm 100% sure he could have easily stopped a full-scale nuclear attack.
