a titanic battle

Galactus vs. Chthon

who would in a battle against the Devourer of Worlds against He who holds the Darkness???

battle takes place on neutral realms..

Scene #1: Hungry Galactus vs Chthon outside his realm without the Darkhold
Scene #2: Normal level Galactus vs Chthon outside his realm with the Darkhold at hand
Scene #3: Newly sated (or Fully powered) Galactus vs Chthon (with all his powers in his realm) and the Darkhold at hand

to make it interesting, lets add their heralds and minions..

@RiseofApocalypse: well not always, Agamotto alone was more than a match to Galactus.. and if i can recall correctly, even you acknowledge that the Scarlet Witch during her stunt in the House of M is far above the devourer of worlds..

Galactus wasn't serious in that fight. If he was, he would have devoured Agamotto' realm from the go.

you sure he wasn't serious? he has blasted countless times.. Agamotto was serious in destroying him but has stopped by Oshtur and Hoggoth saying that he should not lower himself to the arrogance of Galactus..

Agamotto alone was capable of standing up against such threats as Dormammu.. and Dormammu (with Umar) once defeated Eternity.. Galactus at most is equal to Eternity.. Eternity himself expressed great fear about Chthon claiming that all of reality can fall before the the demon in a blink of an eye.. and it also takes the combined efforts of Oshtur, Gaea and Agamotto just to erect a protective barrier in the Earth Dimension just to prevent Chthon from entering.. plus the creation of the Sorcerer Supreme to protect the earth Dimension from mystical threats..

Chthon has a very special connection with the Scarlet Witch.. the demon even blessed her with a minuscule fraction of his power in hopes that she'll be his next vassal in his return.. and we all know what the Scarlet Witch did during HOM.. she toyed with reality and unleashed the Chaos Wave.. which tossed Galactus like a bug..

I'm sure he wasn't serious because if he was he would have atleast attempted to devour Agamotto's realm. Remember what happened to Mephisto?

1- Dormy and Umar defeated Eternity in the 60s through eons of prep
2- It was never said that Galactus at his height would equal Eternity and that is a myth
3- No such thing as FP Galactus exists... Another myth

This isn't HoM Scarlet Witch and Chthon has no relation to the Chaos wave.

I told you before, Wanda gained her initial abilities from Chthon, Wanda's full potential had/has nothing at all to do with Chthon. Chthon bonded to Wanda in her infancy and that event gave her limited mystical abilities, but as you may already know, Wanda separated herself from that bond many years ago. Wanda retained her abilities although she was no longer bonded to Chthon, Wanda later reached a potential Chthon could only dream of.

Why?

Because Wanda is the 616 Nexus Being, a living focal point for the 616 Reality's mystical energy. In fact, this is the reason Chthon bonded to her to begin with, because he knew someday Wanda (due to her own inherent purpose) would increase in capability to infinite levels. (HOM) So he thought he would be a part of that potential. She's going to be retconed soon.

@RiseofApocalypse: hmmm.. interesting.. actually i never knew of such instance that the Scarlet Witch broke her connection with the demonic god Chthon.. all i remember is that Wanda was once possessed by Chthon during Avengers 186 and 187.. but she boke free from that possession and trapped the essence of the demonic god in a doll and thus once again imprisoning Chthon in his mad universe forevermore.. I know the fact that Wanda is a Nexus Being, which puts her at the same class as Franklin Richards and Jean Grey.. Agatha Harkness even claimed: "He possessed you? My dear child, no human vessel, not even you, could contain Chthon.. you were inhabited by a mere fraction of it, which interacted with your dark side".. after she was kidnapped by the sorceress Morgan La fey whom sought to use her powers to reshape reality into her own image, Wanda was still able to feel Morgan's magic within her, even long after the sorceress had been defeated. Confused, Wanda sought the guidance of Agatha Harkness once more. Agatha revealed it was not Morgan's magic, but her own power that had matured before its time. Agatha then revealed that it was Chthon who had imbued in her the potential to wield magic, if not for his involvement, she would have been a mere energy-wielding mutant like her father. She was linked to Chthon's chaos magic, and that was the true source of her mutant power, though she wielded it in an unschooled manner. Agatha told her she had to control it and guide it, instead of allowing her subconscious to direct her "chaos-grenades", that she needed to understand her full power and subsume it within her, or the results could very well be disastrous.. later the whole idea was retconned and revealed that Wanda's Chaos Magic, which was revealed to be an uncontrolled aspect of her mutant power, began to wear away at her mental stability..

but like what i said, it was never said that she permanently broke off her ties with the demonic god Chthon.. Chthon once interacted with her dark side and it was later revealed that her Chaos Magic is an uncontrolled aspect of her mutant power which affects her sanity.. it probably means that Chthon is still there buried himself down to her subconscious, waiting for the right time.. also, when Chthon took possesion of Quicksilver's body, Loki masquerade herself as the Scarlet Witch, suggesting that there is still a very strong connection between the demonic Chthon and the Scarlet Witch..

but i don't disregard your opinions, so if you are kind enough, post a scan of that certain feat suggesting it is true or just give me the tittle in which you said such scenario have occurred..

also, aside from the Scarlet Witch, Chthon has displayed several feats which puts him on par or even more powerful than Galactus because of Eternity's fear of the demonic god.. Mephisto, Dormammu and Agamotto have on more than one occasion shown that they are capable of standing up against cosmic beings such as Galactus and Eternity, and to think that the magical beings mentioned is nowhere near Chthon's level.. the only beings capable of standing up to him are the Vishanti, whose combine might is well above that of Galactus..

how can dracula be killed so easy and fast in the previos to the x-men new crossover... i don´t understand that.

@Kael: don't know about that.. but it would be pretty weird since Galactus was almost stalemated by Mephisto while he is in his realm.. anyways, Mephisto is irrelevant in this battle since its Chthon were talking about.. Chthon, the demon among demons and the great shadow that creeps furtively behind the feet of God.. Mephisto is nothing compared to Chthon..

im going to point out that scarlet witch was depowerd once when the darkhold was scattered across the planet,

but anyways
1.chthon, only if he is fully manifested in the plane and not just possessing someone like he did quicksilver
2.galactus
3. chthon wins unless galactus just eats his realm

the darkhold doesnt boost chthons power he knows all the spells in there already, he wrote them
although mephisto and some other poeple have added spells to it

Even though this post is ancient,Dr.Strange used his power to summun Galactus ship.To help him escape Agamotto`s realm,and even before BigG got strange to come with him from earth.Both surfer and nova notice Galactus is hungry.So they hurry everything along,so don`t pat Agamotto on the back too fast.As this was a weakend Galactus,and he still showed no fear when his buddies show up that form the Vashanti.A galactus with 3 planets in him would have trashed them.In fact I`m suprised how weak Agamotto turned out to be,even in his own realm.
