She is more powerful, but whether she is physically stronger or not is unknown.

Both of Hercules' parents are 80 tonners yet he's a monster. Genetics mean nothing in the God world.

Aside from swatting away Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Namor like flies, not much.

So are two humans. That means nothing.

But is that a strength feat or just power feat?

She flicked her wrist, and they just collapsed. Then again, Larsen and Busiek's Defenders were nonsensical.

Interesting fight, on Marvel.com it says she has the strength of Thor, but I haven't seen her show it.

I've seen scans of current Thor pulling off classic feats etc anyway, I think Thor has this

Actually, I think its grandson, but whatever.

Gaea is Thor's biological mother not Grandmother.

aside from her Elder status and Mystical manipulation, i dont recall her having any strength feats.
although, by hyperbole and assumption she should be...

but going by feats and what i know for sure Thor is.

#17 Posted by Fire Star (3478 posts) - - Show Bio

Oh yeah, its mother, not grandmother.
I'm sure Gaea has matched strength of Thor, it just hasn't been shown
So I guess by feats, Thor
But in a battle I would take Gaea.

Why can't Thor beat Gaea in a fight?

She is an Elder God and has some impressive feats of her own.

Ok, but Thor is climbing back up to his classic feats, oh, and a happy new year everyone! =]

Not here yet. And that is arguable, but anyways he still isn't at Classic level.

No, he is not there yet, but I have seen scans of him lifting planets with ease, easily taking a blast that could destroy 1/5 of the galaxy etc, he isn't there yet, but he might be

Gaea's physical attributes are supposedly incalculable, but even if Thor is stronger than Gaea (but he isn't), he lacks the ability to even harm Gaea.

@ThunderGodsWrath: Nice one, but why are they (especially Strange and Surfer) attacking Gaea?

#32 Posted by niBBit (718 posts) - - Show Bio

Like to know that to

#33 Posted by Magethor (1054 posts) - - Show Bio

@ShootingNova: It's because they were influenced by a curse. The curse is that if any little thing that goes wrong with the world like littering in the streets or if someone spills oil in the ocean, all the Defenders whether if they are together or if they are scattered in different parts of the universe would be instantly teleported to Gaea. It was annoying them and they wanted to be free from the curse, but the curse also made them sensitive to anger which is why they attacked her for no reason. Well, it wasn't really her because she doesn't have a corporeal body. She's a spirit, They were attacking a mountain.

#34 Posted by ShootingNova (16293 posts) - - Show Bio

@Magethor: Alright. I thought something like that would happen. Who inflicted said curse?

#35 Edited by Magethor (1054 posts) - - Show Bio

@ShootingNova: Some alien guy. I forgot his name. He was the Scientist Supreme.

I am not sure, but I remember seeing this scan, and thought this would be the right battle to use it in.

Hank Pym?

#38 Posted by New_World_Order (13042 posts) - - Show Bio

@LubeMan: Yep !

#39 Posted by ShootingNova (16293 posts) - - Show Bio

@ThunderGodsWrath: Although that seems more like telekinesis/magic than strength, Gaea still stomps because she can amp her strength infinitely and Thor can't harm her.

Thor gets his most of his physical strength from Gaea instead of Odin. So that says a lot.

I am not sure, but I remember seeing this scan, and thought this would be the right battle to use it in.

In the process of freeing Gaea from Set (I think it was Set), they became completely subject to her servitude. They were imploring that she release them from their obligations seeing as they only became her servants to save her and the planet she loves so very much (Earth). She then asked them if they were ungrateful of her, and said their implications were not to her satisfaction (I'm paraphrasing obviously).

At this point they went nuts and attacked her.

Thanks for reading,

Floopay

No, it was the Scientist Supreme before Pym. Or maybe there 1st scientist supreme, but he had a weird name which I am having a hard time remembering.
