Gaara seems like the obvious choice, but would Clayface be effected by any of his powers? He can't be crushed, suffocated, or pierced by sand in anyway that would actually hurt him. But the same could be said for any attack Clayface sent at Gaara, he is just out classed. This is really interesting match up and the first time I am declaring a DRAW. Someone please prove me wrong.

After he could debatably absorb Gaara's powers some one showed me scans(I've never read it) of him doing it to wonder woman powers.

@Mr_Ingenuity: are you kidding me? This fight takes place on a beach, Gaara could just pick him up with sand and throw him in the ocean. Gaara has also controlled sand over melted gold (need a fact check here) so I don't think Clayface clay will be a problem.

@SlimJ87D: ¯\(°_o)/¯ who wins this. To be totally honest I have no Idea the context of that scan out side of he copied WW's powers I was not debating for either side.

More of a challenge excepted kind of deal.

Gaara could turn the whole area into his weapon. He could sink Basil down a few miles and compress him there. But if that won't keep him down, Gaara picks up the whole beach and drops it in the ocean.

Winner Gaara.

Garra isn't limited to the sand on his back? I thought he could only control a special sand, is it all kinds?

Gaara - in Flashpoint, Clayface was killed when Aquaman dragged him to the bottom of the ocean, proving he can be crushed to death (the pressure killed him). Sand coffin, anyone?

Have to go with Garra on this.

On a beach was a bit too much I think. I remember Garra (though it was a filler) Pressurizing and entire open field after having much of his power drained away. I bring this up because it's not much different from his Shielding the entire Sand Village from an explosion.

Garra never has to get close to him. I don't think this can possible go in Clayfaces favor.
